I'm a die hard TNG fan, but I still think Enterprise Season 3 is the best Season in all of Star Trek.
Epic. Confirmed.

Season three was a good Season, but I felt that they dragged the Xindi arc a little too long. I liked Season 4 more.

Several of my all time favorite Trek episodes occur in Season 3 - so it's probably the best full season of Trek for my taste. I love Season 4 as well, but the Season 3 story line really speaks to me.

What I really enjoyed about ENT's season 3 treatment over DS9's treatment of war, is how characters on both sides came around to decide that peace was in the best interest of the two parties. It had a STAR TREK ending. I wish DS9 could have done the same - Sisko and crew would have discovered Section 31's attempt at genocide, discover the cure, then take it to the Founders, and worked out a peace agreement. The working of the peace agreement would have Sisko trying to explain to the Founders why they didn't have to fear solids. It would be in similar fashion of how Sisko tried to relate causality to the Wormhole Aliens in "Emissary" and allow "What You Leave Behind" to come full circle in that respect. Perhaps too optimistic for DS9 though.

I enjoyed season 3, though I think they could have used the filler episodes to develop Major Hayes and the MACOs better.

Yes! Although the sphere builders are evil, and must be dealt with, the political situation is presented as complex - and one with some resolution. But it requires all sides to put aside differences and let go of the past. The humans (represented by Trip) must learn to let go of the abject horror of the attack - not an easy thing to do. The Xindi must take responsibility for how wrong they were - and turn on members of their own kind of refuse to believe it. Both sides must put aside the past for the greater good.

Just finished watching Similitude (twice, once without and once with commentary). Loved that episode, though some may consider it a filler, it really hits home with what Archer is willing to do to be successful in stopping the Xindi. I do like season 3, but I think the Xindi arc went on a little too long. Season 3 had some fantastic nonXindi eps and I would have liked to see more of those instead of Xindi stories.
ARCHER: I can't let that happen. SIM: So what are you going to do? Drag me down to Sickbay, force me onto a biobed at gunpoint? ARCHER: If you truly have all of Trip's memories, you know the answer to that. I don't have to tell you what's at stake. I must complete this mission, and to do that I need Trip. Trip! I'll take whatever step's necessary to save him. SIM: Even if it means killing me. ARCHER: Even if it means killing you. SIM: You're not a murderer. ARCHER: Don't make me one.

It was good. If you want epic try DS9's Dominion War. The Romulan War would have been more epic on Enterprise.

True, but the people who were in charge dropped the ball on that one. I would like to see a good miniseries or webisodes (web based episodes) of that one.

It was a sign things were getting better, I'll give it that. It still had a lot of problems, but some of the early signs were there that season four was going to be good.
