To me this not worth talking about.
Both Spock and the good Doctor live in the here and now.
The new "Spock" is not to be used in this battle of wits for he as of yet is not The Spock og lore................

I'm thinking about the TOS Spock.

Think of a situation that would pit Spock vs. Dr. Who. Neither one has any resources other than their wits. Who would win?

first of all never compare star trek to doctor who. Second never compare spock to dr. who. Why? Dr. Who is practically a god in a suit, spock can't compete with that.

Spock needs a good kick in the asteroids right now.

we're talking about TOS spock not trek XI hormone spock.

Not really, Dr. Who has no supernatural powers, mainly just intelligence.

the doctor can live to be 900, has the sonic screwdriver that let's him manipulate all sorts of things, travel through the realms of time/universes, and has knowledge that spans the universe. If that's not godlike I don't know what is for a sci-fi character. Spock lives to be 200, uses a tricorder, has nerve pinch, traveled 50,000 lightyears, very smart but doesn't know everything. You decide.

All true, but my original post states that neither character has any resources other than their wits. So no TARDIS, sonic screwdriver, K-9, or hot female companion.

it's most likely Dr. Who would screw around with spock. Spock ends up winning with saying to hell with you. :)

In the here and now.
If you say the Doctor has live over nine hundred years and has that knowledge, fine.
Spock, through his "Katra" has ten times or more that knowledge to draw on.
The only question that remains is who has the discipline to find and use it in a timele manor :logical:

The Doctor's able to regenerate and cheat death. Granted, this does not always guarantee he'll survive to regenerate. But just as easily, Spock may not be able to pass on his Katra.

It really isn't a fair fight for Spock - and I mean the real one - The Doctor's going to win because of intelligence. All being said though, it's a compliment to Spock to be pit against The Doctor.

How? They've never established a Katra to truly evolve or retain information past its hosts lifespan like a Symbiont Trill. So the one who retains the Katra could use it for comparative purposes - like Archer did with Surak's Katra - but it wouldn't be Spock. McCoy was having to balance two perspectives, but was still McCoy. Archer was still Archer.

The Katra has only been defined as the living spirit, which I always interpreted to be a little bit more than memories. But even Sarek expressed to Kirk that the Spock wouldn't be complete until body and soul were reunited.

And the Katra doesn't have the knowledge or experience that predates its own existence. The Doctor has such knowledge.

It just sucks that Dr. Who has so much knowledge and tech while in trek they fall short in that department.

Spock. The doctor is good, but let see him access a tricoder using technology in the 1930's-1940's.

The Time Lords turned the ability to travel through time & space into a children's toy 10 million years before humanity discovered fire, they invented black holes, and long since discovered the key to immortality but choose not to use it as "death is the price we pay for progress". The tricorder is no problem.

The Doctor would probably tell Q,
"Oh, big deal, so you've always existed. I've come across countless civilizations that have made that claim, and even the ones that were - well, some of them don't have one bit of common sense. Look at yourselves, the almighty Q continuum, been around since time began, but... you only learned how to procreate a few years ago. You've had 14 BILLION years, the entire universe as your bed... And you're telling me that not one Solar Wind, Stellar Nursery, or Black Hole - the nook of the cosmos - ever peaked your interest? Glad I'm a Time Lord."
