ENT567, I thought you and I had an understanding, a gentlemen's agreement. ?... So why are you quoting my posts?...

You should have read the text of the agreement more attentively. It was clearly put there that I would try to avoid your posts except for those which I consider impossible not to comment upon.

No, I did recall that stipulation you made. ?I guess I just didn't think this topic was one that was "impossible for you not to comment on" as it didn't concern Enterprise at all. ?And did you really have to quote my posts to comment on it? ?That seemed like an attempt to engage me in conversation, which we both agreed wasn't something either of us was interested in. ?Why do that? ?I thought we'd reached a mutually beneficial arrangement. ? ?

Quote

If you like, you may pretend it doesn't concern you at all.

I don't have to pretend, I simply won't respond and I won't quote any of your posts or attempt to engage you in any way as I do with several other people here. ?And please don't take that as an insult. ¿Despite everything, I have a level of respect for you and some of that was based on our agreement.  I appreciated the fact that you made that agreement and seemed to be courteous and honorable with regard to it, (even if you subsequently referenced and referred to me out afterwards, that's ok though).  Â¿

As we've both said, we got off on the wrong foot and/or don't like each others' posts/personalities, whatever. ¿There's nothing intrinsically wrong with that. ¿If you don't like someone, just don't talk with them or try to engage them or socialize with them in any way if you don't have to and that's especially true if they don't like you either. ¿That's pretty much a rule of thumb I practice in real life and I try to practice here as well. ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿
¿
I guess I was just hoping that you would help out more by not quoting my posts or referring to me unnecessarily, as I felt you'd agreed to, instead of me having to make it more of a personal policy like I have with other people.

:logical:

How am I supposed to know what you'll comment on, especially after this?

Whatever. ¿I tried, I really did.

But thanks for spelling out your intent.  It's dissapointing, but not completely unexpected, and it clarifies things.

Have a great day.

I think Sir Ben Kingsley would pull off the diplomatic veteran French starship captain better than Vin Diesel...

:logical:

He is 65 years old, Stewart is 69. Not a very big difference.

Agreed. Acording to what's cool. Picard should not be older than in his 30ies in a possible reboot... simply for the fact, that the world these days seems to think, anyone beyond their forties is dead already...  :eyesroll:

How I miss mature heroes...

I do not care if you like me or not, and you should not care if I like you or not.

If I happen to quote something from your posts, I'm focused on the meaning of the words, not on you. I do not engage you into any conversations and do not expect you to converse (though I'm not against that either).

In this particular case, we had a nice conversation with Captain_Storma over the topics I found in your posts, that's all. I don't quite understand what problem you see with that. Those topics could have been brought up by anybody else, and I would have commented upon them as well.

In case you're building in your imagination some picture of wicked me ripping on you and only you, just drop it and relax - you are absolutely of no interest for me. You may sometimes happen to bring up some topics I might be willing to comment upon, and that's all.

Picard in his 30s in a TNG reboot...?

That's more of an age change than Chekov...

THAT would certainly spark a lot of discussion!

:logical:

It seems today nobody accepts heroes which are beyond their 30ies...  :eyesroll:

It's not that Kingsley is not appropriate for the role of Picard, but since the original is available, why go with a new one?

Actually, rebooting TNG, a la BSG, sounds like an interesting idea.  It kind of follows the initial model, with the original cast in the films and TNG on TV.  It would spin off this new universe/timeline in a natural way, so that could be used for marketing and stories.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea at all.  They might be considering it, in light of the new film and Moore's BSG.

Deanna Troi was more than the shrink, often she was able to get a reading on possible friends/foes, several times this proved invaluable. Betazoids have that ability, I'm not sure why you would want a Human or Vulcan on the bridge, as they lack the ability. But the counselor is also there to ensure the captain isn't going crazy.
