This has happened before. Desolving parliament or members happens in Japan. The worst is that the robot workers have been laid off.

When I read the title 'Japan is going downhill' I thought that you meant they were bringing out another season of Lucky Star! lol

Well, the Japanese government was not innocent. The government at that time was run by warlords who pretty much would kill your family if you did not fight. Unfortunetly, no one stood up to them, and instead fought a war that the people did not believe in. Ka sara sara. The reason Japan and America are good friends is because neither countries citizens wanted to be in that war.

huh? | It's an anime series and I saw the first episode and thought that it was crap and someone had the cheek to say that it was like Azumanga Daioh (another anime), but better.

Watch the movie Tora Tora Tora, it's a good film on what actually happened at Pearl Harbor. The beauty of it to is that it was filmed by the Americans and the Japanese.
