Now that I have a blue ray player, I definitely will get blue ray version. If the HD trailer is any indication, there will be a big difference with regular DVD version. Can't wait to see all the extras, and the digital copy will be real convenient.

The way I look at it is that my wife and I saw the movie 4 times each (twice in IMAX).
The idea that we can OWN the movie for $30 or so, and get all the extra materials, BD Live, etc....
Well, to me it's a bargain when you think of how much repeated enjoyment you're going to get out of it. |
oh for sure. im buying it on that tuesday with no regard to the cost

Definitely looking forward to the Klingon subplot and the Spock Prime Sarek meeting. It would be neat if they mind melded. In TNG Sarek mind melded with Picard. Picard then mind melded with Spock after Sarek's death. It would be neat if young Sarek mind melded with Spock Prime and found out about his future Bandai Syndrome. I know it is an alternate timeline but I can't imagine Sarek will not contract the disease in the future. This may all be a moot point since I doubt they mind meld in this deleted scene but still.

Speaking of deleted scenes has any one seen Wrath of Khan deleted scenes? Spock says Kirk took the Kobayashi Maru 3 times. Does anyone know if this is revealed in other scenes? "You took the test 3 times yourself your final solution was shall we say unique." There are many easter eggs and special lines of dialogue in new Star Trek movie !

Cool. I am thinking of getting the 2 disk DVDs. |
As will I, there is no point in buying the Blu ray version of anything since most people will not be able to see any difference. Well maybe those who have had eye transplants from an Eagle might be able to. |
Everyone I know who has gone from DVD to Blu-ray, including me, notices the difference. It's so much sharper and clearer. No point really getting the blu-ray unless you have a HD tele though. Watch wall-E or The Dark Knight on Blu-ray... stunning films to watch in HI-Def, and i'm sure Star Trek will be the same However, i will have to get the DVD, as it appears the deleted scenes are not listed in the blu-ray... which sucks

Agreed... although if it were up to me I would've included those deleted scenes and trimmed maybe 30% off that final space battle scene.

Cool! I can't wait for it to come out on dvd and blu ray! I really love this movie, seen it 6 times! I would like to get both blu ray and regular. I get the blu ray to watch at home on my PS3 and regular to watch on my laptop when I go on vactions and so on. I'm getting anxious for this movie to come out on dvd and blu ray. Its gonna be so hard to wait for it to be released. I know for sure once it comes out, I will watch like crazy! I did that with Titantic, Cars, Pocahontas, Anastaisa, Spider Man, just to name a few movies I went bonkers for.
