Wow... quite a set they have for the movie...

If only the other 10 were given this treatment instead of the cheap throwing out like the TOS movies got earlier this year.

The TOS movies were all digitally restored which is far from cheap.

Sorry... but from a Blu Ray release I expect not less than ALL versions of a film on the disk!

Where were the various cuts for TMP?
Where was the DC for TWOK and TUC?

I am waiting for a complete 10 films Blu Ray box, with ALL editions of the films.

Those 6 released were mere better DVD releases (not to mention that the DVD SEs of TMP and TWOK look better than the BluRay release of the films).

Wow, it's bad enough Orci and Kurtzman had to reboot the franchise, now they enforced themselves on the previous Trek movies as well?

They were asked by Paramount to provide DVD commentary on one previous Trek movie.

Personally I would much rather see the film as it was made to be seen

You mean drunk?

i find it amazing that the blu-ray will be 3 discs. ?it might have ?A LOT of info on it. ?

Sadly, the third disc will not have anything on it about the movie. ¿It will only contain trial verisons of the newest ST video game. ¿You can check out the details of each disc at www.blu-ray.com/news.

The third disc will also contain a digital copy of the film, which I'm looking forward to

Yep!

My thought exactly... I don't need those two premature guys comment a TREK movie... heck I would prefere any real fan commenting a TREK movie than those two Transform-gasm freaks.

AGREED!

I will be buying the 3-disk blu-ray set the day it comes out, driving home, and firing that sucker up on my 106 inch screen, projected beautifully by my 1080p HD projector.

OH YEAH DAWG!!!!!

I just hope that the prices are not as high as the MSRP. ¿Those are a bit too much for me. ¿I like this movie and all, and if I have no other option I'll come up with the money but would rather have something a little more reasonably priced.

I am going to get the two disc DVD too ?

Still nursing that particular pet peeve of yours I see

I'll be renting the DVD at redbox on Nov 17, but sadly it looks like I'll have to wait a couple of months for the price to drop before buying the BR version. ¿$25 is just too much for one movie. ¿My usual rule is to wait for it to hit the $10 mark.

You bet! I've made my choice for my particular pedantry and I'm sticking to it

not to mention 50 percent of blu-rays are released in the 16:9 format so that it takes up your whole screen and you dont have stupid black bars!!

This will be released in 2:35:1 so you will have to endure the "black bars" you speak ill of.

Personally I would much rather see the film as it was made to be seen rather than have 1/3 of it cropped off in order to fill a 16:9 TV screen.

well its still better than the black bars on a 4:3 TV!!

Best buy always has the best price in my town as far as blu-ray goes.

since its a special edition it will likely be 25 or even 30 bucks.  i dont mind tho

The way I look at it is that my wife and I saw the movie 4 times each (twice in IMAX).

The idea that we can OWN the movie for $30 or so, and get all the extra materials, BD Live, etc....

Well, to me it's a bargain when you think of how much repeated enjoyment you're going to get out of it.
