What explanation does Star Trek canon give about the change in the Klingon's foreheads? In 'Trials & Tribble-ations' Worf made a vague remark about how the Klingons don't talk about it, but other than that I was wondering if any other explanation has ever been given.

I don't remember; you should look it up on this site or MemoryAlpha.

Enterprise explained it canonically.

Look up 'Affliction' and 'Divergence' as episodes.

Enterprise only has very occult knowledge.

Did you seriously expect another show than a Prequel to retcon that?

Exactly. But, why would Enterprise mention that, if it happened in the future??

Because they had a well crafted explanation for it in the past.

Make up any explanation you want: it's guaranteed to be better then what the writers of ST Enterprise came up with.  :eyesroll:

And outside the TOS episode "The Savage Curtain" where Kahless appears as a TOS like Klingon, in TNG Worf had a statue of Kahless with the fore headed ridges. This suggested something happened before TOS.

Yeah, between TOS and The Motion Picture. Notice, in the movies, they had some Klingons that had supposedly been in earlier episodes, and they had the ridges. It's weird, though, in Tribble-ations, that Arne Darvin was supposedly re-altered to appear human.

It wouldn't be hard medical-wise to alter one's appearance during that time.  The issue with Klingons would be one of honor, whether the individual would allow the procedure to be carried through.  Changing thoughts of mind may have disfavored switching back to ridges during TOS, with perhaps political/social changes occurring during the interim of TOS and the movies.  The level of ridge construction may also have been an issue of debate since if you notice in ST6 General Chang didn't have much in the way of ridges.

True. But notice, it wasn't jsut the ridges, they also had completely different uniforms. Also, in TMP, the ridges weren't nearly the size as they were later on.
