Wouldn't the Trek Prime Universe be unprofitable? I still like Trek's Prime Universe.

At the moment yes probably, but who knows how things could change, all it takes is a solid idea for a new show and the proper backing, then we're back on track, just remember how TNG kickstarted Trek in the 80's and 90's

I'd like to see new stuff from both universes, but right now, any new trek is good enough for me. With today's special FX possibilities, a new show would be amazing.

Yes, but at the rate new shows get cancelled these days, a Trek series would be lucky to get a second season.

True. However, most shows these days don't bear a name that's been in Television for about 30 total years.

The average TV show lasted 1.5 seasons in 1995 in 2009 they last 1.5 seasons. The difference between now and then is that the shows being produced now are much more diverse than what they were 14 yrs ago and thats why we notice it more. Remember ENT had 4 seasons and that's considered lower end TREK. So if we were to get a good TREK show there would be no problem seeing a series go 7 seasons or more.

Don't limit yourself to just TV shows. There are some truly amazing book series out. Tons of amazing fan made audio fiction. IF you want a reasonable good fan show ST: New Voyages has gotten to be very good in all aspects. Not TV show level yet better than 99.9% of the other fan series.

The Vanguard Series(TOS era kind of like DS9 in premise but more Starfleet oriented) Star Trek Titan( Captain Riker's adventure aboad his ship the USS Titan) And Just about all of the TNG relaunch series. Most of the books put out since 2005 are top notch.

Yeh, a new Trek TV Series would have to be really, really good right out of the gate and maintain it's viewership for Seven Seasons. Trek is also one the most expensive series on TV, I wonder if CBS would want to take a chance now with a new Trek Series, or would it? Some fans say it could be done with less of budget but I don't think Trek fans and new fans of the show would want that.

It's just seems like all the new shows I've been watching lately get cancelled early Lol. Yeah some of them are poor but others were great.
