Quote: /view_profile/ @ | it was a BRILLIANT episode and was good how they merged DS9 and TOS in to 1 FANTASTIC episode. |
I agree that it was a strong epidsode! And you could tell that they worked on making it seem seamless going between the DS9 guys and the TOS guys.
Also, not to get too much off topic here, but I noticed your name, GW, and it made me think of a guy in town that has/had a business in town using his name - George Woods Interiors. His business sold carpets, drapes and the like. Your nick made me smile! And brought back some memories, he was a neat guy
We now return you to your regularly scheduled topic, already in progress

That was a great way to pay respect to TOS, I especially liked when Miles Obrion is in line with the others getting shit from Kirk for having fought the Klingons at the station. The special effect were perfect, and best of all, the whole show was done with humor, I sure the actors must of had a ball making that episode.

It's a great episode. The thought of a younger McCoy at uni meeting Emany (sp?!) Dax cracks me up.

Yeah I loved it too. My only issue with it, is that the NX-01 is ignored. There was 7 Enterprise's, not six. But that isn't the fault of DS9, but the fault of bad continuity of Star Trek. While I do love Enterprise, there was no mention to there ever being an Enterprise before Kirk. Which sucks because TOS just jumps right into everything. It makes sense that there would've been an Enterprise before Kirk's but they always made it seem like Kirk's Enterprise was the first ship in general. I wish Jonathan Archer and the NX-01 had been mentioned in all the other series. If it had, that would've made Enterprise far more loved right there with that small detail alone.

Often the nx isn't counted because it was not a 1701 and was not a federation ship. If we count the nx, then shouldn't we count the xcv ring ship enterprise and the space shuttle? This episode was well done, but would have liked to have seen maybe the kor episode used instead.

T-n-T is one of my fave eps just for the fact they made Sisco be able to talk to Kirk as if Sisco were a member of the TOS Enterprise crew. Fan-tastic!

LOL! I just watched this episode, and that was DEFINITELY one of my favorite parts. Jadzia has excellent taste in men
And this episode was wonderful for so many reasons. Entertaining writing, absolutely AMAZING editing, and a fun plot to name a few. Add in the nostalgic quality from TOS, and this is definitely one of my favorite episodes from DS9.

As somebody who doesn't particularly care for DS9 at all, I have to agree that this episode was a worthwhile venture done with style and respect. The background to it is discussed in the new book Star Trek 365. It showed with conviction just how clever TV special effects had become - you really don't see the join! And anyway, how on earth could you go wrong if there are Tribbles involved?
