oh i agree. ¿It was IMO the best finale to any of the ST series. ¿my beef with Endgame is minor minor things. ¿things like not telling us what happens to Seven & Icheb and how they adapt to life on Earth. ¿Ditto on the Doctor & Naomi Wildman. ¿Why did they have to leave Nelix in the DQ. ¿Ambassador to the DQ? ¿lame... ¿Why kill of Chakotay? ¿Harry Kim as a captain? ¿That little guy will be an ensign forever
Lots of those questions were answered in Homecoming & Far Away Shore by Christie Golden. ¿I guess some stuff was also explained in the Spirit Walk books also. |
"Voyager, The Movie" will probably answer some questions.

The problem though is that "Voyager the Movie" will never happen. For one thing. Kate Melgrew pulled a William Shatner and declared that she is officially done with Star Trek. Also too much time has passed, I think if a Voyager movie was made it would share a similar fate as Dragon Ball Evolution. DBZ was very big in the US during the time of the Freiza and the Cell Sagas, after that it died quickly because of how campy the future sagas were in comparison. Had they made the live action movie at the time those sagas were on TV in the US it would have done better. X-Files had a successful movie while the series was on.

I remember not too long after Voyager ended Mulgrew said she did not intend to do Star Trek again, maybe she isn't getting the work so she wants it now, but as I said too much time has passed.

Just takes the right person to make a few phone calls. I'm sure Mulgrew would be into it. All of them would, probably.

Yeah but even if Mulgrew signed on as I said too much time has passed so I doubt if anyone would watch the movie. It would make about 30,000,000 in box office...not good enough.

"Endgame" wasn't that "deep."
I understood it well enough to know it was drek, as was most of S7.

Had a Voyager movie had been made quickly it would have worked, but as I said too much time has passed now, so all new Voyager stories will have to come on pages.

Endgame was good, I just wished they woulda answered some questions. Voyager is my favorite series by far, I just feel they left a lot of questions unanswered. I would LOVE a direct-to-dvd movie or something.
In answer of the post, the gamma quadrant would only apply if they set course for the wormhole. Mentioning it as a possibility in the first episodes would have been nice, but I am glad they stuck to the Delta Quadrant. BUT they should have made it to the Beta Quadrant in the final episodes for sure.

No offense, but that idea is actually not fantastic. Voyager had the DQ. DS9 had the GQ. Keep it like that

No way a standalone VOY movie would work! I like the show just fine but it did not have enough legs to go feature size. They totally could have been worked into a TNG movie or the fond thought we all had of a massive crossover with all series....but never alone not enough to be made out of it. As for Mulgrew she did the Nemisis cameo and I'm sure she likes money so if they ever asked her to do something i bet it would be a YES!

If Voyager had been a bigger ship I would've liked to have seen them eventually establish a colony in the Delta Quadrant. I know this may make me less of a hero than Janeway but as soon as i would hit Borg space i would've turned around... Good thing Kes "evolved/ascended" into a god in less than 6 years so that she could send Voyager safely past Borg space.
So this dyslexic walks into a bra...

I agree a theatrical movie would never had made it but that is where they are really trying to reach the general audience but if they did a direct to dvd movie then it would probably be taken like the direct to dvd Stargate movies or the direct to dvd DC Universe animated movies where they are not really expecting to reach the general audience too much.

I like the idea of Voyager showing up just in time to help the Federation resolve some galactic conflict. It's just that I like the whole showing up in the nick of time and assisting some starship in battle idea. I don't mind that all of the personal issues of the crew didn't get wrapped up. It leaves more to the imagination.
