Vorta i am getting sick of trying to explain something to you and all you do is draw it out in a long winded responce. If you can't accept that someone doesn't veiw something in the same way that you do then that is just too bad. It is a shame too, as i did at one time enjoy our little debates, but your inability to accept that i got something different from what you wrote has changed that.

The Death Star would be assimilated whether the cube survived or not. Palpatine and Vader would be running for their lives from their own assimilated Stormtroopers.

The Death Star possesses magnetic shielding, subspace jamming, conventional energy shielding and a neutronium-impregnated hull, all of which inhibit transporters; the Borg would not be able to beam across to begin assimilation.

They would adapt! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! hehehe

But Camorite… you aren’t explaining anything; you won’t address my intended argument, you refuse to explain how you got to your interpretation or how it applies to my points and you haven’t replied to 90% of the points in my last post.

By all means explain something to me, but until you do so the discussion can’t progress because you refuse to talk about anything other than “your interpretation” of what I mean no matter how many times I tell you that your interpretation is not what I meant.

Also… do you really consider six lines of response to be “long-winded”? That rather precludes any sort of meaningful discussion…

If you can't accept that someone doesn't veiw something in the same way that you do then that is just too bad.

No Camorite, this has nothing to do with me being able to accept differing viewpoints – again, this isn’t some piece of third party text that we’ve each come to a different interpretation of, this is you interpreting my intentions while simultaneously ignoring me when I tell you plainly what those intentions were.

You can’t expect people to take your interpretation of what an author really intended seriously when the author himself is right there telling you that what you came away with wasn’t his intention.

It is a shame too, as i did at one time enjoy our little debates, but your inability to accept that i got something different from what you wrote has changed that.

But what else am I supposed to do? How can I discuss things with you if you refuse to discuss my intended points?

I’d love to continue the discussion, but you’ve completely shut it down by not replying to anything that I’m talking about. I don’t want to insult you and I don’t mean this to be confrontational, I just want to talk about the topic of this thread!

Heh, the problem is that the Borg can only adapt within the limits of their own technology; they would have to invent and implement a completely different methodology of matter transport in the time before the Death Star fires, which is... a little bit optimistic, to say the least.

Vorta, i am done with this crap. but i will at least answer this one point.

Your wrong, i did explain it, but you refuse to accept what i said because it does not fall into your realm of resonable answers.

So later, perhaps next time you will be a little more accepting of stuff, but i won't hold my breath on that one (especially after the last few pages).

Vorta one of the problems with what you are saying here is that we don't know what the limitations of the borg are. The fact that you can't accept this simple fact has been a constant theme in all your posts on this subject, and i don't see that changing anytime soon.

“Because I just do” is not an explanation, Camorite. And no-one anywhere is going to consider you refusing to talk about anything other than your “interpretation” of my intentions while simultaneously ignoring me when I tell you plainly what those intentions were and refusing point blank to explain how you arrived at your interpretation “reasonable”.

Camorite, we’ve discussed this before; if you want to claim that the Borg have the ability to do something, the burden of proof rests with you to provide evidence, either direct or inferred, for this ability.

That we don’t know their precise limitations does not mean that we instead assume that they have no limitations and that they can adapt to anything they encounter. The Borg have never shown the ability to be able to overcome these particular transporter inhibitions; to do so would mean them inventing and implementing a completely new, non-subspace based form of transporter (something which may not even be physically possible) in the very short time before the Death Star destroys the Cube.
