Awful acting, bad characters, poor production quality and the story is usually very weak. Why people like this show is beyond me. I gave it a shot and watched enough episodes to have an opinion and I've come to the conclusion its easily the worst of all the Star Trek TV shows.

Lemme guess... You watched half of Season One and gave up, right? If so, that doesn't count.

Screw it, here's the deal... Find a way (Netflix, download sites, etc.) to get your hands on just these episodes:

"Call to Arms" - final episode of Season Five

And the first six episodes of Season Six...

"Time to Stand"
"Rocks and Shoals"
"Sons and Daughters"
"Behind the Lines"
"Favor the Bold"
"Sacrifice of Angels"

Then possilby these other Season Six episodes...

"Far Beyond the Stars"
"In the Pale Moonlight"

Now normally, I'd recommend patience over this kind of thing. But with you, "Mr. ENT Season 3 is EPIC"...? Ha. This might work best.

Anyway, watch these. Then come back here and tell me DS9 is "easily the worst."

I guarantee you'll change your tune.

Sorry buddy but you need a doctor.

I can understand not liking the show but,Awful acting????

DS9 had some of the best actors to ever bless Trek

Bad characters,????DS9 had the best charactererzation and character development then any of the series.

Poor production quality????The show was top notch when it came to production quality.

Very weak stories???The show had some of the best writting ever seen on Trek.

I wont deny you your right to dislike the show but assessment skills are questionable.

Yeah this opinion makes zero sense to me. Avery Brooks is probably my favorite actor to ever be on Star Trek. He is extremely convincing and a great actor. Not to mention the actors that play Odo, Quark, DAX, Keira...I mean come on these people are completely absorbed in their characters and they are all dramatically different. Not to mention they are completely different than your standard crew.

I wouldn't recommend a new DS9 watcher do this, simply because a lot of those episodes are so good and effective because at those points you care about the characters involved. If you don't know anything about them I doubt it will help :(

Watch Spencer for Hire and then watch DS-9 and tell me what a great actor Avery Brooks is.

I'm sure he's a great guy. But he's a one note actor.

Hmmmm you sound an awful lot like a fan of ENT.  :p

Seriously though you have no clue as to what your talking about. Watch all seven seasons, then come back and have this discussion.

:logical:

Trust me I have.

I loved his as Hawk and there are plenty of subtle differences between the characters of Sisko and Hawk.

well maybe I jumped the gun by saying avery was my favorite star trek actor, but he is up there. Brent Spiner is up there, a long with Leonard Nimoy and Kate Mulgrew. Richard Picardo is also up there. Sisko just stands out to me as a strong captain.

It wasn't that bad; it got a little better after Sisko got a ship. I've only really seen 2 episodes, but it's not horrible, even though one of the ones I saw was actually quite bad in my opinion. It was when they were just on the station that was boring. I can admit, it's not my favorite, and I don't think it could ever be one of my favorites, but I can't say that it's not good. I can say that Enterprise isn't good because of how non-canon it is, but they all depend on your own point of view.

I think your using the term incorrectly.

No, I'm not. They knew about the Borg, but in TNG, no one knew who the Borg was, and it wasn't in the computer or anything. I think there was another race or 2 that they shouldn't have known about. And, all the ships and looked more hightech than the ships that were supposed to be later on. Almost every ship before and after the original Enterprise, accept the ship class right before Constitution, even the ones taht were supposed to be over 100 years before Kirk's time. My dad says that Riker and Troi appeared on there, too, once or twice.

I think it has some good moments. However, the set, the lighting, and most of the acting talent was very dodgy. I thought Avery Brooks was good, and Colm Meany was awesome. Nana Visitor was HORRIBLE on DS9....BUT FRICKING AWESOME as a cancer patient on BSG!!!??? So... maybe it was the direction???! I don't know?

I think the Star Trek paradigm was so broken at that point, that the best TV writers in the world (which they had) couldn't save it.

I think Worf and O'Brien whould've stayed on the Enterprise. I liked how Worf would respond to certain things, like 'how to act in front of a woman', and stuff that had to do with Klingons. O'Brien belonged on the Enterprise, too; he'd had 3 different jobs that were mentioned; tactical, then transporter chief, then chief engineer. He looked good in a red shirt in the tribble episode, though. The doctor did, too, in his blue shirt; I think he's my favorite character from DS9 not from TNG.

Obrien didn't get enough screen time on TNG. Next to Stewart, I think Colm Meany was the best actor on the show, and he was just a semi-role. He was very underused and could have been their "Scotty."

Heck, Obrien looked AT HOME on Kirk's ship in "Trials." He was a TOS character in a TNG world.

Sad:(
