What do you think happens to Jean-Luc Picard?

They'll have to pry him out of that chair.

His numerous failures to keep Starfleet regulations sacred will doom any chance for admiralty, but they'll really have to force him into retirement.  I can't see him ever leaving on his own.

He's in a great spot right now - He's in charge of the Federation's best envoy where he can use his reputation and diplomatic skills to further Federation interests, and train younger officers serving around him.

Picard will probably stay a Starship Captain until he eventually does retire, that would fit the story presented to us in the TNG stories.  What he does after retiring is up to a good writer to decide.

from what happened in nemesis he should retire.  I mean he almost died on the scimitar because he's old/out of shape and well he sucks in starship combat.  He should tend to the vineyards. :)

I feel that he should be promoted to the TOS rank of Fleet Captain or Commadore. Picard can still command a starship and teach at Starfleet acadmey like Spock did in TWOK.

"Captain of the Enterprise, huh?"
"Yes, that's right."
"Close to retirement?"
"I'm not planning on it."
"Well, let me tell you something - don't!  Don't let them promote you.  Don't let them transfer you.  Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.
Kirk & Picard, ST: GENERATIONS

Best piece of advice one could ever receive.

I say a bit of all you suggested.

He remains captain of the E for at least 10 o 15 years following Nemesis.

He is promoted to admiral and takes a teaching archaeology at Starfleet Academy for at least 10 or more years.

Afterwards he becomes a Federation ambassador to Vulcan remaining at that position till he's about 115 years old.

He retires and tends to the vineyard.

Of course he'll remain as captain for a time, then he'll become either an Admiral or an Ambassador, then go to the Vinefield. I don't think he'll ever go to teach, though he may give guest speeches and such.

I'd say he'd retire and pursue his numerous hobbies. After nemesis i'm sure he's had his fill of exploding ships and crazy life threatening aliens.

He's going to miss Data, since Data won't become a professor like in 'All Good Things...'
Which brings another question: The timelines in that episode weren't related, not different versions of the same one, since Data was in the future, and he died before then. So, were they 3 random timelines chosen to take place in this? I think there were a few differences in the past part of it, too.

It's best not to ask Time related questions in the star trek universe lol.

It was worth a shot, it's not like Q is gonna come down on me for asking about something he did that shouldn't have made sense in any way.

Its a possibility that all 3 time frames were just a fantasy world created by Q.

I'd like to think he starts a family somewhere along the way, given how he felt about not having anyone to carry on the family name after the death of his brother's family in Generations.
