...how long does it take to get fom the station to Earth?

Depends... How much forewarned do you want the crew to be of a disaster waiting to happen on earth (where they do infact, reach earth in time to stop said disaster. If that doesnt happen then its not that important...)

Nah, i mean in more of a chilled fashion, just when they pop back for meetings and stuff (but never the less still up end saving the planet somehow!

Oh and i mean on the Defiant.

I concur - High warp, a week. Transports? (no faster than warp 7) 2 weeks or so or something.
