NO
I disagree. What you are saying is complete BABEL
I believe one should master the language of the country that they live in to be successful.
Newsflash: Some countries have more than one official language.

It's not that rare that children are already bi or trilingual. In India for instance, in various parts you shall find children being fluent in both English and Kariboli or Tamil. In Morocco you shall find young people speaking both fluent French and Arabic.

Let me reiterate.

"To be "successful" in any country one must Master the language of that country"
Are you are going to give arguments or what?

So, what two languages should Americans learn in their school system?
You really do not believe that LOTM can name the word 'America' without flamebaiting do you?

What's with that one word any way, grow up, your country's not the centre of the universe you know.

To me, the very thought that so many people only know one language frightens me. As for myself:

I speak Dutch and English without an accent but with a funny voice both (nasal, really nasal and mumbling), I speak quite flawed German but have no trouble or a need to concentrate to listen or read German. I can read French, Latin and Old English to a certain extend  and I am able to grasp the subject of a conversation in Finnish, or at least, the form of Finnish my flatmate speaks to her mother (Finnish immigrants), they told me their Finnish is unusual.

That it's unusual to be 'bilingual' in the US is here quite strange. Here's it's also unusual to be 'bilingual', most people here are trilingual or more.

You reeally don't have a clue about LOTM do you?
She does it all the time

Defending her doesn't change what LOTM is doing

Yes, she uses the work 'America' frequently in discussions about the country.

I'd say call the ghostbusters, kill it with fire.

Jack is afraid of change.  If it was tradition to shoot people in the head every Sunday, and I suggested we stop doing he would call me anti-American.  He likes to support mistakes that we made in teh past by calling them tradition.

Oh the disease of humanity.

Personally though, that remark about me being not a woman in that other thread made me think.

I don't think I can think of any thought or opinion that I find 'sick' or 'twisted', I just disapprove of some actions.
