Far back as say 8 or 9 years old, I recall being highly attracted to images of naked men. Possibly even younger. My brain could not process it at the time as it was not ready to, but it was formed pretty clearly. When I hit puberty, I knew I was predominantly sexually attracted to guys. I thought choosing to ask a girl out on a date might make me attracted to girls. That did not happen. While I'm not repelled by the thought of naked women as some gay men I know, the thought of wanting physical and/or an emotional relationship from women just does not fully enter my thoughts. This could be habit after 30 years of chasing guys. Or has it been planted in my DNA? My father gave me free reign to his Playboy collection early on. I remember wanting to read the cartoons .. .and found myself staring at the mens underwear ads. While this is not any evidence for either argument, I feel personally, if I chose not to be mocked, ridiculed, bullied, hell yes, I would have avoided that. But something inside me was so strong that over rode all the ridicule, harassment. I have no idea what it is. I just know that when I came out of the closet, a great burden of shame actually lifted off my shoulders that day. I chose to be happy.

Then stick with something that you know, not something that you don't know; especially labelling something for convenience to suit yourself.

It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.

The act is a choice, the feelings aren't.

I agree. LT/HTSPT makes a valid point of feeling though.

There might be certain factors involved, not accounted for, that is related to the individual.
