See if this works.

someone else's... Webpage

For privacy reasons, it's doubtful that anyone would have freely given out the address ~even email~ of any tv actors.

JULIAN is my most favorite Character ever-He was so adorable(and I'm HEAD OVER HEELS in love with Alex Siddig who plays JULIAN)

I was very jealous of any girl he was with

I'm Doctor Bashir...
Julian Bashir

Though hinted to be of middle-eastern descent,
I talk like King's English was certainly meant
With my sexy voice, trekkie-girls all make noise,
when ever I'm near, as I'm Julian Bashir

Yeah I'm Doctor Bashir...
girls all scream 'Oh dear!'

When I pronounce 'Sir' in my trademark non-rhotics,
They'll watch DS9 like Tholian neurotics
And read all that fan-fic, with Garak as side-kick,
those can get kind of queer, as I'm Julian. Bashir

...Doctor Bashir...
M.D. from the rear

Genetically altered by my father I hate,
I'll test twenty-digit numbers as prime while you wait
To hide what he did, I acted an upper-class twit,
I just retconned that here, being Julian Subatoi Bashir

Sing it baby.

Bashir's pretty nice in the later seasons, he starts out as an annoying upper class twit though, but two months in a dominion camp sure showed him. Near the end he's awesome. I love the accent and mannerisms, and he becomes more modest.

^ The trouble with that of course is that here in the Southern Hemisphere we pronounce "Sir" in exactly the same way!! hahaha. :p

hm. Enlighten me. Where's that?

I just kind of chuckle at the automatic (not entirely incurable, but interesting nonetheless) in some quarters that everyone has an accent except Americans. ^_^

It was a fun poem by the way.

(oh boogers my break's over. Gotta study. Back later.)

Editus: Okay here's a question which might or might not wind up being useful.

Who can recommend some books etc with a wikkid part for Julian in them?

More like this this

Bashir speaks fairly textbook RP. Miss Brahms from 'Are You Being Served?' speaks Estuary.

Sort of shift between the two sometimes. And I picked up a bit of "gaijin" from living in Japan which has faded somewhat but there's still a little something hybrid in there I guess. And sometimes just starts to sound a bit "foreign" on occasions just because speaking is not easy. I couldn't even count how many nationalities I've been mistaken for!!

So. Sometimes it's FISH although more often nowadays it's FUSH and sometimes it's something completely different. In the rugby I go for the All Blacks but I still prefer Aussie Rules. That kind of thing.

:eyesroll: ¿

----------------------------------------------------

oooh that just went completely off topic didn't it now? haha.

As for Bashir, actually I do think he has a nice accent. Well-spoken but not posh if you know what I mean.

----------------------------------------------------

okay why I like him (and he's my fav character and all that.):

Because he's a great character. Even in the initial seasons when he's getting so excited about everything, that's the kind of thing that... it would be infuriating sometimes, sure, but then it's the kind of thing that in private moments would also make other people pause to smile.

And yeah I love that he gets so excited about random stuff. And especially that after all that happens from beginning to end he gets a little jaded at times but doesn't lose that core to his being. Like seven seasons in and at the height of the Dominion War, he and Miles are still playing with their toys. ^_^

Besides that, he's fiercely dedicated to his job and to his friends. I mean whatever else might be said -- imagine if you had a friend who was even half as loyal. And he's also pretty fierce in maintaining some sense of integrity and decency even with some pretty huge challenges.

And ok he's not perfect but like I said perfect characters are boring.

He speaks in a current RP accent, which is close to Siddig of the clan Tahir begat from Fadil begat from Siddig descendendent of Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim begat from Mahdi's real accent in English.

Essentially Queen's English or BBC English, prestige accent in the UK. Known to be able to be very charming and eloquent. Most 'sophisticated' characters tend to have that. Like Count Dooku or Megabyte from ReBoot, tend to have an RP accent out of nowhere often called 'British accent' falsely, but there are more accents of English in Britain.

Oh, but surely, that's for TNG, you seem quite the intelligent fellow, only stupid people that like TNG need heroes to like up to.

Essentially Queen's English

I always thought that was kind of weird because of how the Queen is so posh. Some people even assume that ever dialect that's closer to "English" english than "American" english is Queen's English -- but as far as I see it she's more like, "May husband and Ay...." and coming up with words like "Annus Horribilis" etc.

Well, a British accent... As in an accent from Britain. That's not so bad. If I were to say, "ooh look there's a cat", that doesn't necessarily mean there's only one cat in the world. *shrugz* If instead one were to use the definite article "the", then that would be a problem perhaps.

Dare I mention...? I'm not an intelligent fellow, possibly owing primarily to not being a fellow -- sorry I couldn't resist -- or to not being intelligent (that part I don't claim to know. hehe.)

Speaking personally I often find that I don't really start to like a story unless there are / is (some) character(s) whose fortunes to care about. I don't look to people to be heroes, fictional or otherwise, but I do look to them to be interesting and in some sense "real".

And yeah I will still say that I like that "nice" characters do not have to be weak or to find their own strength at the expense of their integrity. People who talk about things like "heart" or "spirit" or "angels" don't really speak my language -- but the concept of integrity does not have to be a weak or amorphous one, or given only to hero worship.

Ach! Sorry that's so long and probably makes close to zero sense!! Summary for ease of reference: Favourite characters are ones I like (and from being a writer too and all that) as characters and actually not so much as objects of "kissy swoony wub-wub" ~ uh oh. no offence to those who do.

oh yeah. DS9 is still absolute favourite star trek telly show ever, but Next Gen (and Voyager) still have their merits and if not liking either is a prerequisite for intelligence, then bring on the idiot pills!!!!

I've always believed OtakuJo to be quite the intelligent female.

(Sheesh, I'd hate to be wrong about this sort of thing. Ha. Perhaps we should have genders underneath our avatars?)

The awful year? What?

It's interesting to note that contrary to popular belief American English, especially southern American English is far more archaic and closer to their common ancestor than English - and especially Queen's English. The 'broad-a', now a symbol of British eloquence was seen 120 years back as a vulgar mispronunciation.

Well, there's really no pattern between the different accents of England, and if one doesn't live there one wouldn't recognize a random accent as 'British', only RP, Estuary and ####ney immediately are noticeable.

Oh, I use those words interchangeably, I believe I addressed you as 'milady' some where too. My way of life with these words is 'A fangirl is a a hippy idolizing a person, and fanboy idolizes concepts like games or countries'. I just uses what has the right nuance for this really. Genders are such an overrated human concept... Dax knows this.

Ah, you hate chick flicks?

Hmm, maybe you should look into the character of 'Ronald Sandoval' from EFC. He's even more complex than Dukat, Dukat is a bad guy with more qualities than that. A narcissist but you have no doubt he really has the generosity, the charm, the love for his daughter, the sense of honour, and ¿the respect to his enemies regardless of the sides.

With Sandoval you don't know what he has in the end, if he's a ruthless killer, a narcissist, some one who's sacrificed his whole life to be ultimately forsaken by humanity and turn wild, some one who sees himself like the hero but is ultimately just the bad guy or some one who makes himself believe that and tells himself that out of feelings of guilt.

I didn't know you were a woman of course, I completely change my verdict and you are stupid.

^ That's usually how it works, either consciously or subconsciously, people's whole image of people changes immediately and I find it appalling. People's genders are like genders of nouns to me in languages that have them. It's quite appalling how people react to it. Come one, people claim they like what's on the inside but the majority of people will just find you nonsuitable based on if you look like a guy or a girl... and 'bisexuals' aren't better either. If they thought you were a guy first and find you attractive and then realize you're actually a girl that same face is then 'ugly'? When this site asked me to fill in my gender I freaked, it's like being asked 'Are you a lover of Star Trek or a hater?' and really no other options of nuance, I just let the random generator decide this one.
