I also think you should buy season 4 ?or 5 if you had to pick a single season.
But like others already said, if you haven't seen any of the series then ?you should start at the beginning with season one.

I take it you're not referring to myself or Chickadee, as we are two of the most experienced Trekkers around.

..and you're so proud of that too.

She also did at times come to almost peace with herself, but I don't think that would be something she could ever completely do. It's an insecurity of hers, and while you can overcome an insecurity they never completely go away

I thought we saw the best indication of B'elanna's character in the ep Faces, where she gets divided into two people, and she was at last able to confront herself. I thought that ep was compelling and told us so much about her.

yeah she literaly confronted herself. That episode was a great introduction to her inner struggle. And I bet it was a hell of a challenge for Roxann to dive that deep into a character so early on

I say this all the time but I bet it would have been interesting to see this same situation later on in the show after she's more comfortable with her klingon side

Yeah, and after her raltionship with Paris has blossomed. She seemed a lot more relaxed afterwards, less argumentative. I think she could almost live with herself, and be at peace.

That might have helped her to accept that part of herself. She saw that he loved her..Klingon side and all. Getting involved in a serious relationship can do wonders for your self esteem and mental health. Before I met my husband when I was in school I was on several anti depressants and anti anxiety meds, after I got serious with him I didn't need them anymore

Yeah, she still had one hell of a temper though. But in juggernaut she started working with Tuvok to help her with that. In Barge of the Dead she did have a bit of a revalation "I'm so tired of fighting" and did seem a bit more calm after that. In Lineage, finding out her child would have Klingon characteristics brought back all her insecurites about her father leaving and being left alone
