but in trek aliens taking over your body is nothing new. They usualy assume someone else is in control when that happens

True, but it was still Kes who was doing all the berserking.

It was Kes's body that was doing it, but when exactly she lost control of her body is debatable

I've seen that ep a few times, on one occasion I looked at it from a different perspective - Kes against the writers, and that worked too !!

They did, and the fact there are boards dedicated to their talent, and those of the actors, is testament to their skills.

Ok, now let's talk about your second favourite subject.

B'elanna Torres, complex character or just a bad attitude ???

What do you think I'm going to say?

I do think she was one of the most complex characters in the show if not in all of Trek

I also think you should buy season 4  or 5 if you had to pick a single season.
But like others already said, if you haven't seen any of the series then  you should start at the beginning with season one.

I take it you're not referring to myself or Chickadee, as we are two of the most experienced Trekkers around.

actualy, I said that too, if you haven't seen the series before then naturaly you should start with the first season. But if you have seen it any season from season 4 and on is good

I agree B'elanna is probably the most complex character in Trek history, but how much of that is due to her being Klingon ??

I don't think it's just the fact that she's part Klingon that makes her complex, it's how she feels about being part Klingon that does it. She's at war with herself and that brings a lot of interesting things to the character

Agreed, we could write reams just on that alone. Add into it her past history with her parents, and her life as a Maquis, makes her a force to be reckoned with imo.
