Star Trek Best season of VOY?

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a season of Voyager on DVD. I was just wondering what would be the best season to get in terms of overall quality of episodes. I can't afford the whole series and can't be bothered to agonize over its first two mixed seasons (which I've already done before with TNG and DS9) so please don't suggest I start at the beginning. I recently saw the episode 'Timeless' from season 5 and loved it. Would that be the way to go?

If you haven't seen any of it then of course I think you should start at the beginning with season one.

But if you want to buy just one I recommend season 6

I would actually suggest that you start with season 1. It's the best way to "get into" the series and learn to know the characters and what they are actually doing out there.

When it comes to quality, I would recommend Season 2.

All episodes are great except for "Threshold" but that episode is at least funny here and there and can actually be imagined as a nightmare Tom Paris had.

Do it right and start off with Season One.

Don't jump in -half way ..you wouldn't know a jillion things, why is Neelix there? ..who was Kes? ..whats the origin of Seven? ..what do they mean when they refer to Maquis? ..or phage, or Seska? ..on and on, all the stuff that formed Voyager.

Get Season One ..its excellent, and contains some of the best episodes.

I don't know...the first three seasons of Voyager were realy weak

Season 4, hands down.

Borg, Krenuim, Hirogen, oh my!!!

The best of every Trek series is the middle.

^yeah, i'm not sure what i would call the best season of voyager from season 4 on, but since season 4 is where seven of nine starts and some characters (b'elanna, tom, and neelix, primarily) go in a new direction i'd start there.

If you had to pick a single season, 4 or 5 would be a good choice.

But like some I would suggest you if you can go through Netflix and start by renting from season one. IMO there is a lot of development of the characters through the first couple seasons and it gives you an idea how many of them got to where they are by season 4.

I actually think that while the first three seasons were not as good as the finale four seasons, they actually were relatively strong when you compare them to TNG. Season three actually has some pretty good episodes also IMO.

As for the first two, there were some bad episodes, but as I said I think it was stronger than TNG. I just started renting DS9, and have gotten half way through season one, so far I have not been overly impressed. I hope it gets better, so far the stories have been a bit bland and the characters are not that interesting. I hear it gets better, least I hope so.
