Nah! No comparison. They have little in common beside the Federation.
It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.

Voyager is much better than the new film. The new film was alright, but it was just a remake. All the original stuff is unbeatable.

Like dwisantoso said, it's like comparing apples and oranges. There's no objective way to compare them, so it comes down to opinion.
And, personally, I tend to enjoy both about equally, but probably for the wrong reasons, lol.

I agree, Voyager was better, but that doesn't mean the new movie was bad. It was great!

is difficult to compare a 2 hour's movie with a series of 7 seasons.
I really like both.

In terms of my own fandom, I would have to choose Voyager over the film, as it's #1 on my favorites in st list. But I do of course like ST, it's part of that list.

Voyager is by far the fan choice, but the new movie was good. JJ Abrams is no Star Trek fan and probably did the best he could to please the fanbase and the general audience. It had action, but it was a cool movie as well. It wasn't one of theose movies that were all action and no dialouge... I enjoyed it. Lots of fans complain about this movie and it gets quite tiresome. Instead of focussing on the bad points of this movie, try focusing on the good points!
Yes, of course Voyager is better, but like John Woods said, How can you compare a 2hr film to a story built up over 7 seasons...

For me Voyager is like a fine aged single malt scotch.Full of complex flavors to be ejoyed over time(7 seasons)While Star Trek XI is like a shot of Jack done fast and furious(2 hours)I enjoy both.Sorry for the alcohol analogy, but apples and oranges was already used.

I have to admit I'm surprised to see as many people as I have hating the new film. That really does brighten my day I must admit.lol My vote is on Voyager as well. Kinda makes me think that maybe that new movie, made fans realize that Voyager and Enterprise as well, really weren't all that bad.

Yes I agree Voyager is better than the new movie, but isn't it a bit unfair to compare an entire series to a one of movie?

Although Voyager is my least faverate series, it was a great series. The new films problem for me was how the Trek 11 was done, it was as if everything was thrown together as fast as they could and left out many, many unanswered questions, it didn`t feel like Star Trek even though the names were the same, it felt like an unknown scifi trying to fit in.

It's really very silly to compare a whole series to one film (but not surprising considering who started this thread and some of its participants.) Now you may be better off comparing an individual episode to a film or whatever, but an entire series to a film? It doesn't work out too well considering most of the factors people are likely to use for comparing.
