Chekov.....TOS wouldn't have been the same without him. Anyone have any cool Chekov info? Or stories to share.

Just the scene in the Futurama episode 'Where No Fan Has Gone Before,' between Fry and Walter:

(roughly)
W:' . . .And when we woke up, we had these bodies!'
F: 'Say it in Russian!'
W:sigh 'Ven ve voke up, ve had these vodies!'
F: 'Now, say 'Nuclear Wessels.'
W: 'No!'

In the episode "The Deadly Years", Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, and others were exposed to a radiation disease that resembles aging. Chekov appears to unaffected and Dr. McCoy ran a lot of tests on the poor Ensign to find out why and to create a medical solution to their problem.

This is something Chekov said to Sulu:

Quote
"'Give us some more blood, Chekov. The needle won't hurt, Chekov. Take off your shirt, Chekov. Roll over, Chekov, breathe deeply, Chekov! Blood samples, Chekov; Marrow samples, Chekov; Skin samples, Chekov.' If, If, I live long enough, I'm going to run out of samples."
"You'll live."
"Oh yes I'll live, but I won't enjoy it."

Chekov got plenty of girl action in TOS.

I am a big fan of Chekov and I love the new guy - Anton Yelchin, as well.

There are so many great Chekov moments...here's just afew

The opening scene to 'The Trouble with Tribbles'
The episode 'The Apple' where he gets some fun time with Yeoman Landon
'Spectre of the Gun' where the lovely Syliva wants to marry him
'The Way to Eden' where we meet the beautiful girl from his past Irina - what a sad story :(
'Mirror, Mirror' where gets to let his inner baddie out to play
TWOK in which he features so prominently
(and that deleted first series scene where he meets Khan down in the lower decks...LOL)
And of course his other featured role in TVH

I am a big fan of Chekov :D

I was never a fan of chekov, his character was always kind of strange and I would have prefered to have seen less ofhim and more of sulu and uhura

I thought the new checkov in the new movie captured the character perfectly, yes it was a little over the top but checkov always was in TOS

for some reason he always got a little mo eto do than the other characters, he even got to be a first officer and in generations, iwould have uch prefered to have seen uhura do those things

that being said i dont hate him I just dont understand the character well.

After everything Chekov went thru over all of those years, especially the 'mutany' in STIII etc..., he deserved to be a Captain of his own ship. hehe

Uhura seemed very soft-spoken to me in TOS show & movies, very quiet, laid back, almost a 'backround' character at times in my opinion. That being said, the new Uhura in STVI seems a different personality to me. She is younger and prettier, but different. I guess I also don't like the Uhura-Spock thing either. The original Spock would never have gone there. But I do love the new Spock as well as the old. Zachary Quintos is sooooo adorable. If I can't have him, I don't want Uhura or anyone else to have him........hahahaha lol :-)

I don't know, I have grown to love him over the years. In the beginning he was just another crewmember to me, but that really changed for me with TWOK, I felt closer to him from tha portrayal and as I have re-watched the show I have come to see him as a sort of 'everyman' character, it's like any one of us could be a crewmember like him. I think Captain Kirk has a real soft spot for Checkov, sort of like the son he never had (David Marcus aside of course).

i agree  i don't care for the uhura spock romance but i can live with it. to me its far fetched that spock would date a student, but this is a more emocional spock so hard to say for sure. I think the old uhura was more pritty than the new uhura though. Yes hse was kind ofa back ground character in the original but i still liked her better than checkov

Mirrorgirl  checkov was cool in some ways, but he is still my least eve on the TOS maybe in part due to the face i felt sulu and uhura should have had some of his moments instead spread the wealth a little so to speak

I agree with MG. Chekov has come along way from being an ensign who thought everything was invented in Russia to a good Starfleet Commander.
