I'll have to agree with that one. The area that I live in would literally be unbearable to live in if it wasn't for air conditioning.

Actually, the best part about summer is whenever both of my kids get out of school for summer break & I get to sleep late (later than 6 AM) for two and a half months.

I enjoy having my kids out of school for the summer. My kids are great kids & don't get in trouble with the law. But, I know what you mean, Somerled. There has been a midnight curfew instilled to keep anyone 17 or under off the streets so that they won't cause any mischief.

Somerled, any teenager under the age of 17 that is caught out after midnight is hauled down to the closest police station, held until their parents come get them & they are automatically fined $500.00. If this happens more than once, the parents are also fined for their kid(s) being out after midnight once again.

It certainly is in a lot of cases. I wasn't raised that way & I'm sure that you weren't either. Neither one of my children are being raised that way either. Children learn how to be responsible, law abiding adults by example (from their parents or legal guardians).

Baseball! The best part of summer is watching a baseball game, be it minor league or major leagues. The pennant races are heating up in the majors and the Reds are leading their division for the first time in over ten years. THe local minor league team, the River Bandits, have already clinched a play off spot and have been playing some pretty good ball as their season wins down.

Nothing beats a bratwurst and a pretzel at Modern Woodman Park down by the Mississippi in Davenport on a warm summers evening.

I play the game myself (well, play might be pushing it, but I do try) in a local "grown up sandlot" league. Great exercise and much more fun than mowing the lawn!

If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.

When the heat wave that has been in our our for the past fourteen days finally decides to leave. The mid to high 90's sound wonderful to me. Enough of 100 degree plus days!!!!

'47 said that it was 96 where he is today too.
