By the way I am not saying she didn't do any movies after Cheers because we all know she did, what I am saying is she made poor choices with her movies, and her expected pay.  Look at the choices she made in 97 and 99, she did an effective job killing her movie career!

The only poor choice here is that she gave away 5 million dollars to the Scientologists. The fact that she had that much money to give away is enough to refute any claim that Alley made bad career decisions or hasn't done anything of note since then.

What I dislike about this episode is that it relies, over and over and over again, on the trope that if you breathe on the D it explodes. I mean, so the warp nacelle was nicked. The Constellation in TOS had both nacelles run through and yet the ship was intact. Star Fleet used to design decent ships. Sad.

That always annoyed me too, but just look at it like a car crashing, 9 times out of ten it's just the shell that is damaged but on the one other occasion there's a fuel leak ignited by a stray spark and it explodes.
As for the Nacelle just being nicked, wasn't it destroyed by the impact, seperating from the drive section, releasing all that warp plasma and energy would have been catastrophic.

Correct. With all that matter/anti-matter flushing out into space when the containment field was lost, an explosion was inevitable.

But it didn´t seem all that dangerous before - I don´t think he could have announced that earlier. That other ship just showed up out of nowhere, and if I recall it correctly, it wasn´t until the nacelle was nicked that things became dangerous.

Why was it that the Enterprise D seemed to have (or nearly have) a warp core breach every other episode. So a ship crashed into their nacelle what's the big deal? I have watched Kirk's Enterprise the NX-01 and the Relient  take heavy nacelle damage and not go into a warp core breach. I love the Enterprise D so much but it seems to be a delicate ship. So sad to see it get powned by a mere Klingon bird of prey in Generations.

Also when they did go into a warp core breach they could never seem to eject the core... strange.

Not, that time he couldn't yell anything until they used the Jaws of Death to cut him free from that box springs.

I just thought it was great that they brought Kirstie Alley back for Nemesis
