Agreed... Maybe set a whole new fleet based in the 25th century with some reunions of some old crews within it. Something of that sort... May work out.

They had their chance and managed to screw up so bad they even reversed the odd number curse.

Remember Brent Spiner's first appearance on Night Court? "Will I ever see Disneyworld now, Daddy?" "Never, sweetheart. Never in a million years." Ha. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Okay look, I've just gone and read this entire thred, and I have to say... ENOUGH WITH DATA, PEOPLE!!! Brent Spiner is an ass to work with, he obviously doesn't want to play Data, and if I hear another word about Data vs B4, I'm going to scream!
*sigh*
I grew up on TNG. I was raised loving Wesley and hoping that Riker and Deanna would finally get their acts together (which they did) and the writers would stop dancing around everyone's relationship issues. (Tasha & Worf? DEANNA & Worf? Please. Wesley and any girl? Picard and Vash?) Although I had to say, I like how the issues with Q spilled into Voyager, although the whole kid-thing could have been explored better.
More off, some people brought up a very good point. Another TNG movie would be interesting, a Voyager movie would be cool, and DS9 movie might be nice although I don't think it's as popular as the others (no offense, honest), but with the new movie and its alternate timeline, I honestly think it's just going to confuse the hell out of people!
I mean, think about it, unless you're a hardcore trekkie / trekker like us, are you really going to understand what's going on? They were able to make TNG & VGYR meet because they were close enough in time, although I believe that was one episode in the 6th or 7th season, and was done to promote Janeway and her amazing crew. But it's just going to be too d@mn confusing to have Kirk & Spock in an alternate time-line of movies, and Picard -or anyone else for that matter- in a seperate / original spew of movies...
Do you see where it gets confusing? I'm not saying I don't want another movie, but let's get real here, folks. JJ is trying to get new fans for the series, and it'll just confuse the bejesus out of everyone if they start in on another cast.

Exactly... I mean, yes I grew up with Picard, yes Janeway kicks ass, and yes DS9 is a very nice "new" spin on the series... but with the "new" Star Trek, the "old" ones can never happen

No. The cast IS getting old, despite what we all want to believe. Stewart has liver spots, Dorn does too AND he has a gut, so does Frakes and that's coupled with his gray, thinning hair, is McFadden even still alive? There's just too much that makeup won't fix. Besides, the only ok plotline is something threatens the new era of peace the Federation is building with the Romulans. And after the way they butchered Nemesis, only J.J. Abrahms and a miracle would pull that storyline together. Besides, even though there's B4, Riker has a new ship, Deanna is gone, and the only way he's going to give up command of the Titan is if it gets blown up, much like Worf and the Defiant in First Contact.
