Probably Sports Historian on Earth, as I'm not quite sure that I'd be much of a field officer. And I would have a hard time convincing myself to go to the Acadamy as my livelihood wouldn't be dependent on it.

I'd be the junior archaeology officer on the Enterprise. That would mean I'd basically have nothing to do except hang around in Ten Forward and drink myself silly. Even if they found a cool site they'd never let me on the away team.

Honestly, I'd work anywhere... but I'd love an Engineering job that allows me to hang out with Data and Geordi a lot!

I would enjoy working in engineering, preferrably a job that puts me near the top of the career ladder; working hands-on with all the quantum mechanics would be, in the words of Data, "Fascinating,". Also, I would choose to be a Vulcan, as oppossed to a Terran, or Surak forbid, Klingon.

I wouldn't be in Starfleet at all. Why get shot at and nearly killed every week out in space, when you can be safe on Earth?
I'd probably pick a simple job, that leaves a lot of free time, since making money is no longer a factor. Probably mowing lawns, or something.

Good answer. Civilian quality of life is equal to or better than that of those serving in Starfleet.

It makes one wonder how they manage to have Starfleet at all in Gene's envisioned future as most people would probably agree with that statement.

I'd just be a full time bum. Sleep in late every day, take up some hobbies. Imagine the equivalent of the Internet in those times with all the connected Federation worlds -- brings new meaning to sitting in front of a computer all day. No need to be in Starfleet, just get my fill of being in command by playing around on a ship simulation battle scene holodeck, networked to other players offworld through highspeed subspace connection. Then when I'm done I'll have some chocolate cake from the replicator, hit the sack after. It's a lifetime party for me.
