Because the space in "Night" was a different space than in "The Void". If they were in the same space, they would of meet those "melting chocolate" aliens they made allies with.

It still had no stars. That's the main point. They are quite different, but you have to think about it to realize it.
By the way... Am I the only person here who has seen "The Time Trap"???

I love this episode. Janeway has to choose between losing resources or joining a band of thieves. She chooses the former and Voyager is alone - until they ally with the unfortunate ships that subsequently enter the void. She creates an alliance with these vessels based on Federation principles. In the mean time, the indigenous species of the void prove to be highly intelligent. Ultimately, the alliance with the incoming vessels and the patronage given to the indigenous species prove successful. The alliance collaborates with the indigenous species to escape the void. An episode on moral behavior is always welcome in my heart.

This episode was a good return to the core Trek philosophy of sticking to your principles no matter what, and seeing it pay off. The point of Star Trek was to show that cooperation and generosity are much more profitable in the long-term than greed and hate. Something the franchise seemed to have lost at this point. I didn't care that they had already been in a similar "Void" because the storytelling was fresh and original.
