Mr. Mack, I did have a question or two I wanted to ask you if you're willing/able to answer.

1) On the topic of Ezri, why was she the Captain chosen for the Aventine? In the end I found her a strong presence in the story (not to mention, as I said before, redeeming story for her character) but I was initially surprised to find her in the post. Was it your idea or did the idea come down from on high as it were?

2) Sort of in regard to Ezri, I mentioned the scene with Bowers and Dax before, the one where she was practicing with the Bat'leth. Bowers says something that struck me and I've been curious about it. Talking about their shared past aboard DS9 he says something about the events of Warpath/Fearful Symmetry coming close to saying it was a turning point for her as an Officer. Obviously, we as readers don't know the end results of the Alternate Universe storyline seeing as The Soul Key hasn't come out yet (lets hope it isn't another cliffhanger). Were you aware of what is to come in that story?

3) All of you Trek Authors have a sense of internal continuity, you all do a very good job at working the stories out to fit together. Since you've established that something defining is going to happen to Dax fairly soon, do you think that will carry over into the future novels set during DS9's post series, pre-Destiny?

4) Lastly, how do you guys keep up with all of the continuity twists and turns in these novels? Star Trek Novels have done amazingly well over the past several years (nearly decade... god that's crazy) in keeping to a continuity. It must be difficult. You don't see the kinds of errors that tend to crop up over the TV series (45 years of TV, they're bound to miss something).

Thank you for answering whatever you can. If you can't answer something, it is totally understandable, thank you for trying anyhow. Thank you for what you do and never, ever stop!

I was given hints by the editors, but I don't have clear answers for what's coming in that series.

The editors are the ones who keep us writers on the straight and narrow. When we flub a detail, they usually are there to help us fix it. ¿Teamwork -- it's a wonderful thing. :-)

I didn't really enjoy the Destiny Trilogy... I found it boring and only read the first book... :(

Maybe it needed to have some coloring areas for me!
