Are they still trying to get the premiere?

They started this about a year ago, didn't they...?

:logical:

Almost a year ago, I think.

#### Vulcans. Ever since the "Cochrane incident" of first contact, they always want to be first.

I say, let 'em have it!

Or....let them wait for the ViewMaster version like everyone else. >CLICK<

Old News...

And the main problem will be the city not donating enough money and resources directly to Paramount  to accommodate all of housing, transportation and feeding of the workers, staff and cast members.

It ain't free and it ain't cheap.

Good luck though.

I do believe planet Vulcan's involvement in the new movie was terminated at some point during production.

Maybe they decided to destroy Vulcan in the movie as a mean hearted way of saying no.

:logical: Spock Prime did give his blessings to a great idea ... true - one hotel and one motel would not accomodate so it would be bussing from Calgary (only 1 hour) - no theater was probably a bit of a set back to the plan as well - let your imagine run away for a third good reason!
YES, Paramount gave them a special prescreening on Wednesday May 06 and sent Bruce Greenwood, Cpt Pike, to their pseudopremier.
All in all, for a town of 2000 in rural Alberta the publicity and world coverage certainly didn't hurt and hey, they got a little extra out of Paramount for the little non-costly advertising they did for them. At 1.5 million on opening weekend, the publicity was worth what Paramount spent on Vulcan.
In closing, cudos to Dayna and Erin (yes, I know these fine ladies personally) for a superb job at marketing Vulcan and the movie. Let's face it ... it got your attention!

News Flash: Planet Vulcan elects not to host movie premier since doing so would result in their destruction.

I wonder if the population of that city is 10,000?
