This morning on my way to work, I was overwhelmed by some of the series of events that has happened in my life. What's gonna happen when I lose my job? My plans of fixing my computer and surgery for one of my dogs have nowgone out the window. I wont be able to support my godchildren and my car insurance and registration will be due soon. Why did they choose to rob our house? We are the poorest family living in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Jamaica and they chose us?? AND WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BOBBY???? That question will always weigh heavilly on my mind.
Of course, being bipolar, these feelings and emotions are multiplied ten times, and a feeling of 'what's the point in planning, hoping and dreaming' began to overwhelm me.
I got to work extra late because I just didn't care anymore and was just weary of all the struggling and as I walked into the door, the cleaning lady called me aside. She said shhe noticed that my travelling coffee mug was kind of old and had two new ones at home and brought one for me to use as she knows I love my coffee. I was suprised and overwhelmed by the gesture so much that all the feeling of hopelessness and disappointment was completely wiped away. Who would think that such a seemingly small gesture of kindness would have such an effect on someone, and even though my problems are still the same, my outlook on life is now better because of it.
So no matter how small you may think a gesture of kindness is, it may not seem that small to the person you are being kind to.

I was going to say that the universe was telling you that things aren't that bad, but it just sounds trite and silly given the real magnitude of your problems. But I've known you for years now peng and you always land on your feet. You've been through worse than this We're pulling for you hon.

Thanks, Wissa. Actually, the kindness and support you guys have all given me over the years has helped me through my trials and meltdowns. Still would like to know what happened to Bobby, though.

Thank you very much. All i'm saying, though is that, if such a small gesture can do so much for me dealing with my mountain of trouble, can you imagine what would happen if each of us did something small for someone on a regular basis? We might not be able to help their troubles but we can help motivate them to deal with them better.
