Star Trek

This is a poll of sorts where your answer may actually shape the future. Or, certainly the future into which I intend to travel.

If something could be built and you could actually go see it, what would you want to see and why?
A - A spaceport with spacecraft and small accompanying city of the future with all the bells and whistles.
Or
B - A full scale spacecraft more than a 1000 feet long and a small accompanying space colony.

Now before you make your choice you should know that both are intended to be fully functioning micro-communities and research centers. On one level they will be devoted to the science fiction genre where visions of the future can and will be brought to life. On another level they will be devoted to bringing about some of those ideals to which we as Star Trek fans cling namely improving the quality of life for all of humanity. There is no reason why we cannot begin to reach for the nobility in man even though right now it seems beyond our grasp. But, if we want to try and bring about the ideals and technology of the future we need a place those things can be tried and tested.

This is about creating something more than just a living work of art. Part of a never-ending story I've been working on, there are two directions the story can go, and which direction I go I am going to leave up to you the fans of Star Trek and the science fiction genre. So here I am asking you what part of the future you would like to see the most.

I would have to say A. The reason being B would group people all on one ship thus taking away the personal experience of piloting ones own ship.

I would go for A as well, though more because it would seem more likely to see what everyday life would be in such in an environment.
