I wonder if they are going to sell anything from the Experience itself.

They've said many times through several different sources that everything is being mothballed. Not sold. Hopefully, in anticipation of recreating it somewhere in the future.

there were many people in Vegas at the convention saying that they were shopping it around to other hotels on the strip

Yes they are, and as a piece of advice most of the CURRENT employees an the Experence have no clue as to whats going on. Since I heard 4 different stories from 4 employees when i was there.

yep. Most of the waiters there don't know what's going on at all and the people in costume of course won't break character to talk to you about it

Heck and I was just reffering to those in the gift shop and those working where you buy the tickets, yet you are correct as well.

ahh yes, those guys don't know anything either. We were buying tickets to go on the rides and they didn't even know what date the place was closing!

Nobody knows for a fact whats going to happen to all the stuff. I find it interesting that employees at other Hotels know more about whats going to happen than those that work there.

Since June (possibly before) they have not ordered any additional merchandise, so whatever was available at on site and in the warehouse was all they had for both in-store and online purchases. I've also heard that they've wholesaled some of their stuff to various online retailers (mainly shirts and small collectibles).

I dont recall any company making a 16" model of the Enterprise-D, but there is one of the Enterprise-E (the same company is releasing an E-D the end of this year). Could THIS be the ship you're thinking of?

As for the one's on the ceiling, I doubt there will ever be replicas created at that size because of the cost of doing so and the difficulty of delivering it to the customer.

Thanks for your link - I might be wrong but it seems thats more like a toy though. What Im after is more of a display collectible, akin to what the 'Corgi' brand distributes, pewter or die-cast.

I imagined the really large ones would cost upwards of 1,000, and ofcourse shipping would be expensive, but I thought some of the deep-pocketed and most diehard fans would have ordered such replicas in the past, but I can't even find one online. I guess that means unless one is considering modeling kits (which go upto 18" I think), the largest collectible replicas are about 10"?

This is turning out to be a bad day, first nowhere to source bloodwine or romulan ale from, and now I can't get a large(ish)replica starship! ?
I need a replicator...NOW!

I actually have the ship you reffer to as a "toy". I would say its probably the best collectable of the ENT-E and is of excellent quality.

Just so you know the quality on the corgi line is rather disappointing in all honesty.

V_A_Baxter, sorry didn't mean to offend! I gathered that since it had sound effects and lighting, it must have been a toy.

Does this mean that its essentially a display item?

Thanks for the tip on the Corgi line. I actually thought that would be the one Id go for, since its the only one that resembles something to what I imagined. Theres a few available - in colour, in silver with the light stand, and pewter. Are they all about the same quality?

Thanks,

AlexM

The master replica site has a large and detailed one, except its the TOS Enterprise.

Hopefully the Enterprise-D will be along at some point.

Yes, I actually have seen the preproduction version at a local Sci-Fi convention. It is very very wow!

Yeah, I was there last weekend (tears), and there was barely anything left.  There were star trek bears, key chains... the normal souvenior (sp) kind of stuff.

But I must say, the experience itself was amazing on its own.  Also, go to the spacequest bar after the experience has closed for the night.  My friends and I did that, and that's when a lot of the staff (characters included) come afterwards.  We had a blast hanging out with a borg and a starfleet officer, lol.

Unlike when Picard goes back in time to save Earth from the Borg, we cant 'save' the Experience.
So first to go is the Store, whats next? Geez, Im sure glad I got my order (whatever I could salvage ?anyway) yesterday.
Hmph. This is so depressing.
Somebody hand me a painstick.

Thanks also to V-A Baxter for your reply.
