I agree with this. They did an outstanding job with this ep.

EOM and BOT are good, too.

In my humble opinion, the best are:

The Corbomite Maneuver
Balance of Terror
The Enterprise Incident
The Trouble With Tribbles
The City On The Edge Of Forever

Well as someone else said, it's hard...I love a *lot* if not most of them! But here's my 'Top' list:

* "Requiem For Methuselah"
* "Space Seed" (Khaaaaaaaaaaaannnn!!!;) *gRiN*
* "The Naked Time"
* "The Trouble With Tribbles"
* "I, Mudd"

and yes,

* "The Enterprise Incident"
* "The Day Of The Dove"
* "Who Mourns For Adonais?"
* "Mirror, Mirror"
* "The Squire of Gothos..."

Heck! It would be easier to eliminate the 5 worst eps! ?*LOL*

Cheers!
Cali :)

I can't believe only 2 people chose city on the edge of forever. ¿in all the old polls it consistently got into the top five!

There weren't any significant changes in the episode. And quite frankly, it didn't need any because it was such a great one. It was pretty much the same as the original. Most people are probably voting based on the enhanced effects and how "improved" the episode is.

Okay I think some of you are confused by the question that started this post.  It wasn't "what are the five best episodes of Star Trek," it's "What are your top five picks" from the re-mastered collection.  While City on the Edge of Forever is clearly the best episode of TOS, it didn't improve much from remastering.  The fact is, if you like the new effects, you're going to like the episodes with a lot of space hardware (like the Doomsday Machine, Balance of Terror, The Enterprise Incident, etc.).  Having said that, I feel I need to complain a little bit:  I understand why the effects on TOS needed to be redone...the original effects wouldn't ever transfer well to HD (which will happen pretty soon, in case you're considering buying new standard definition DVDs of these episodes...hint hint).  However, I do object to adding new effects shots to the episodes.  There was no shot of Mudd's ship in Mudd's Women.  There was no exterior shot of the science station in The Naked Time.  Spock only opens the center window of the shuttlecraft in Metamorphosis.  The Aurora was just a tholian ship.  And CGI is still not good enough to rely on...in ten years, these remastered episodes are going to look like The Last Starfighter looks by today's standards.  They should have built models and photographed them, and they should have remained true to what appeared (and didn't appear) in the Original Series.

Here is my top five:
1) The Doomsday Machine - Great updated graphics
2) The Immunity Syndrome - Same reason
3) The Corbormite Maneuver
4) Elaan of Troyious
5) The Enterprise Incident

These are not my favorite episodes, with the exception of 'Doomsday', just the best of the remastered bunch!!!
