I know this is an extremely controversial episode, and I know a lot of ENT fans hate it; but I love it. In fact it is, IMO, the best ENT ever made (that I've seen so far, anyway).

Its a great two part episode. There are parts of it that are boring, and the 'mirror counterparts' could've been slightly better, but seeing the mirror TOS elements and how they tied in with TOS Tholian Web was awesome.

I pretty much hated it.  I think what it comes down to is that I'm not much of a fan of alternate realities/alternate timeline story ideas.  The original series mirror universe episode was good and I liked a couple of the ones on DS9, but enough is enough.  Why is it so interesting to watch the same characters behaving like sadists?  It's not.  I also hated the CGI Gorn.

It has been my impression that more ENT fans like this two-parter than not.  However, I have never liked them.  I'm not a big fan of MU episodes in general. I thought the acting was sub-standard.  I also did not like the computer generated Gorn.  I wanted to see some guy in a cheesy costume playing the Gorn.   The ending with Hoshi taking over was ridiculous.  I also hated the perversion of the First Contact scene.

Going back to the MU element.  With the addition of the Xindi, the TCW and alternate timeline hoo-hah building up through Season 3, this two-parter was over kill.   Enough with the far-fethched did it or did it not happen episodes... was my opinion by Season four.

While I like the episode and find it entertaining, I have to agree with what the reviewer in the link Shuttle posted said.  The problem with the Mirror Universe was that they were about as evil as a cartoon villian.  They're one dimentional evil, and not very smart.  I've always found it hard to believe that Mirror Earth would have been that successful.

And I thought Hoshi was very hot in this episode.

Sorry, didn't think it was any kind of realistic even for sci-fi.  The paranoia that such a civilization in the dark universe would bring about with the seemingly endless rounds of get-ahead-by-assasinations would surely cripple any empire.

And in the supposed beginning of the empire, with Cochran killing the Vulcans after FC, I doubt whether they would have taken the shuttle apart to study its technology or even understand its science before the Vulcans would bring in their fleet to stop Earth cold.

Also, what was it about Hoshi that she could take command of the Enterprise and no one else on her crew said "boo" about it?  Was she impervious to being murdered?

Back in TOS I thought the initial concept was good, but badly handled.  As the alternate timeline progressed, the universes would become more divergent.  If the Terran Empire took root back in the days of Enterprise, it would be doubtful that TOS people would still be where they are in both universes.

You guys are making me feel bad for liking it

I just think it's nice every now and then to throw the book out the window and have a little fun, enjoy watching Phlox torture people and experiment on baboons, and enjoy looking at all the women wearing their sexy outfits.  I didn't like how Archer's dog was named Porthos though--it should've been something a lot meaner and more evil, like Adolf.

I know that many found it very... disturbing, seeing their beloved characters so vile and sadistic. I understand that that's the reason many hate it. I perfectly understand.
But, I think it was extraordinarily well-crafted: the way it ties in with First Contact, and with all the other Mirror Universe eps... and that opening! So far superior to the regular opening!

And whoever said that the Vulcans, because they were so technologically superior to the humans, so the idea that humans could have enslaved them is ludicrous... that it a soundly logical conclusion. But logic is not the only thing to consider. In our history there are many instances of primitive, brutal barbarians conquering far more advanced, far more civilized cultures. Think of how the savage Mongols conquered the far more advanced, refined China or how the barbarians brought down the mighty Roman Empire.
Same thing could have happened here!

Didn't think all that much of it to be honest

This 'review' summarisies why nicely

that website is awesome shuttle, and what I find so awesome about it is it contradicts everything you've said in your attempts to justify the massive continuity/canon errors in startrek : enterprise.

I luv u
