If you don't know it by now, Cryptic Studios has began a count down, and it points to about 07/28/08.

What we know so far:

1. The clock has a STO artwork background.
2. A bay area company took over the rights to STO.
3. CS hired more people, including X-DEVs from PE, to help with a new project.
4. The Offical site still says Coming Soon.

The clock is ticking, and we know what it points too. But what will we see once this clock hits the Zero Hour?

I'm so excited about this. I cannot wait for that countdown to finish.

Thats when the Online Game is coming out? or what? I have been waiting for what seems like forever! And where did you see this about the new team on the website and all that stuff?

Ok after asking around, and reading other fan site forums, we all have come to the same agreement. The countdown clock is using one of the STO concept art images. SO............

If it's a countdown count for Champions Online, why would they use that artwork? Why not use artwok that is for the Champions. So do you see why there is a buzz over STO again, we all feel this clock is for the relaunch of everything STO, and maybe just maybe they will have something more to show us.

So.......

The way I see it, on Sunday night, the 27th, the clock will be in it's final hours, and once Monday rolls around, we should see something from CS on STO.

As you can clearly see, the Countdown Clock is on the Champions main website, and there is nothing anywhere on the cryptic studios website related to star trek.

I highly doubt it's for star trek, but would be pleasantly surprised if it is.

So when it says Meanwhile......... on the clock with with the STO artwork, that says it's for the Champions launch?

So if you read any comics, you know when they use the Meanwhile like that, it's in reference to a different event.

BTW here is the same artwork being used on the clock.

No that is not the same artwork on the page you linked.

Also, meanwhile in reference to comic books is almost always directed at the lair of the supervillain.

I have doubts that the countdown clock is for STO. If it is I will be pleasantly surprised.

OH ok. See I never saw that concept artwork.

Well, then either it's a Star Trek game of some sort (might or might not be online), or they're using some of the concept art for another game.

Now that would be a sick trick on their part, if they indeed did that to us. :laugh:

But the feeling around the web says it's STO, and the countdown is CS way of saying they are ready to show us something real.
