Why blame one group? When the other group is just as guilty.

When I first join a simm. I was posting like crasy. I didn't care if the other poster, post or not. I remember, one member, ask me,  if I like talking to myself. Then I get banned. Not because of my crasy posting or talking to myself.  I gotten banned, because I broke a rule. No npc starfleet starships allow,  and I was told, by the other member.  That my post didn't make since to them.  Now,  I am a  highly reluctant poster. I would wait a month to two month to post. If they don't post.  I post anyway in the mission itself.

Well now that your resident psychotic Klingon is back, I might just be able to help out a little.

Urgh. Yes, Ares, welcome to the Great Depression. We old League of Captains fellows have been trying to do something about it.

How about this: instead of playing in 15 different games, why not play in one or two and actually focus?

Or this: it's beyond irritating to read four pages of one-sentence conversations between you and one other character, especially when it's being done on multiple threads that don't synch up, timeline-wise.

It's not the game, it's the players.

I've only been in one sim... one sentence responses to my carefully crafted, multi-paragraph posts kinda killed the interest, for me. One time, I actually had to move another player's character, because they simply stood there, no matter how many times I indicated my characters were waiting out in the corridor (I literally had to drag them out). Yes, only dialog as a response, no movement, no actions, no mannerisms, nothing to define their character but words and a few little tags. I also got the distinct impression they never read my posts (too long for them, I guess), since so often, what little they gave had no connection to my own post. Or, worse yet, contradicted my post. Makes it hard to reply, when I've put so much into a post, all this material for the other person to respond to, and I get "nothing" in return.

I hate that too. Makes me want to say "frak all this."

If it's that bad, come sim with me @ the USS Adams and I'll reply to your heart's content. Look for Counselor Maria Kenton or anyone listed in her sig.

Thanks for the offer... right now, I'm way behind on other RPs, and RL hasn't made things easy. Still, your link is saved, and I'll keep it in mind, when things clear up (might take a while). Going through the sim, I did note the one-liner "conversation" posts, so... even with your offer... I don't know if anyone else would be willing to lengthen/detail their posts to match mine. Also, though I haven't (yet) found anything against it in that sim's rules, I don't do humans... or even humanoids. With your position as counselor, however, I do have a character who I think would make for some interesting interactions, given who and what he is, and his need for counseling. Only thing is, he stands two and a half feet tall, has four arms, and vaguely resembles a dragon, if you had to pin a descriptor on him. And he has some pretty deep issues. He'd also make a very good memeber of the Engineering crew.

Oh, and if you'd like to check out the sim I was in, to see my writing style, go here....

Another thing I was thinking of is having an "exchange program," i.e. I'll join your forum if you join mine. I've found that knowing the same person on two forums somehow causes them to post more.

We sort of tried that with the 'League of Captains', it worked for me, I got a few new members (most on LOA now....apparently) and I joined a few more!

...still seem to be 'flogging a dead horse' though..!
