well, the vegas con is still a few months away, maybe he will go

If not Nimoy, then I'm sure someone else from Abrams' bastard Trek movie will be there to suck up to Trek fans.

What about Stewart?

Stewart just did a convention in New Jersey a month ago ( I was in the front row)

it is unlikely that he will be doing any cons again in the future since it was such a big deal that he went to that one.

I was there too and I'm pretty sure that I remember him saying that he was going to try to start attending more cons. ?He also promised that he'd return to an NJ con at a date when he had no time restraints.

I really wish he didn't have any time restraints that day. ?I never got my autograph. ?Stupid Creation Entertainment overselling tickets.

I don't know if it was a matter of them overselling tickets or that they didn't realy know how much time he realy had. I do think that they should have limited the number of autographs that each person could have gotten though. There was someone there who had like 15 autograph tickets for him. But Creation was offering refunds or the option to have your item shipped and autographed.

and yeah, he did promise that the next time he went to a convention he would stay extra since his time was cut short

They knew exactly how much time he had in advance (How could they not?  They knew when he would arrive and they knew what time his performance was.) and they oversold tickets by almost 100%.  With the amount of people who were behind me there's no way they couldn't have known that everyone with a ticket wouldn't get an autograph.

And I know that they offered refunds or belated signatures, but I between buying the photo, paying for the autograph and paying for general admission, the whole venture cost me $116 for the convention alone, which is a lot of money for me.  I drove three hours from college (which was a lot of time and effort and cost even more money in gas) to be there and was excited about meeting him for months.  A refund or a belated autograph doesn't cut it for me.

that's all you spent, consider yourself lucky. With hotel and tickets and the stuff I bought I'd say I spent around $1,500 at least

they charge so much because the celebs fees are so much. The fee for Shatner (I've heard) is $75,000.

But I would definately say that the expense is worth the experience of going to a convention!!!!!

The thing is that I don't think that's entirely true (though I'm sure it is in Shatner's case).  For example I'm pretty sure Avery Brook's autograph at his last convention was somewhere in the $60 - 75 range.  Where as when I see him at the Chiller Theater Expo it will be in the $20 - 30 range.

I dropped that on the auctions alone!
LOL

I'm already saving for next year. It takes an entire year.

That depends.  AB will be at DragonCon this year, and an annual thing called "Trek Track" happens.  It's an hour or so of Q&A with the Trek folks all at once.  Cirroc Lofton will also be there.  So, if you're going to DC, that'll be worth it.

And in Valley Forge a couple years back, I attended a show with all the Next Gen principles, minus Stewart.  Each signature was $20 and they had the usual Q&A session.

It really depends on the con.

One is angled up the stairs on the wall.
The other is hanging from the ceiling in the Trek Museum.
The pics I won are in the Museum on the Cast Photos wall.
