Keep in mind that when we see Dax in Destiny, it will be four years after she was last seen in the DS9 novels (where, yes, she is a full lieutenant, albeit on the command track). But Warpath (and the upcoming Fearful Symmetry) take place in January 2377, and Destiny takes place in February 2381.

A lot can happen in four years.

So then when does "TNG: Greater than the Sum" take place? Before or around the same time as "ST: Destiny"?
