Season one had the HD-DVD format on one side and standard DVD format on the other side. Wait until the price drops and pick up season one since it is both  Steve |

Well, I'm afraid you'll both be waiting for a very long time. ¿I contacted the horses mouth so-to-speak and what I got from Paramount HQ was this.

I may hang on to the 1st Season of TOS in HD DVD just to have something unique even though I was offered a refund by my retailer. ¿But I have gone out and bought a Blu-ray player so I'm ready for either format if necessary. ¿I foresee some very cheap HD DVD sets in the future to get rid of the dying format. |
I understand that seasons 2 & 3 won't be released on blu ray but what about the remastered seasons 2 & 3 on regular DVD? Did you get an answer on that? |

I think he/she mean exclusively on DVD so that people who cant afford the HD-Format (or just dont have an HD player) can see it. |

No offence, but there are only two possibilities: either the Blu-ray display you saw was wrongly set up or there's something wrong with your eyes. The difference between DVD and HD-DVD/Blu-ray is simply MASSIVE. And seeing as you're American the difference should be even clearer, since SD in your country is 20% lower then in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & Europe. |
Agreed, people don't realise how complicated getting the correct set up on a Display can be, it's not just a five minute job.  |
