I had a feeling something was not right. Afterall, I was accused on STOnet for calling Daron misleading, and heck, even the court document say it. I cant see perpetual winning this, there will have to be a out of court settlement.

However, i have a feeling that other parties will sue also.

Yeah I'm sure everyone else involved might want piece of the pie that was taken away from them. Daron Stinnet turned out to be Brad McQuaid 2.0

Star Trek looks like to be at rock bottom now. Better hope the new movie at least does something to stir up support for another game or tv series, then again don't like the whole idea of the reboot anyways. Meh nothing else to look forward to.

Well, this is certainly turning out to be quite the fustercluck. (if it proves to be true) and to think I left SWG because I thought SOE was corrupt and making poor decisions.

It seems like for every one step they take forward it's two steps back.

Ive said this before. Paramount seriously needs to pull the license from these losers and hold on to it until someone with a background and credibility and reposnisibility can properly manage it.

I hate to sound like a "I told you so" but this game was doomed with PE from the get go.  Just the way they handled everything told me enough.

When you see one crooked MMO-Centric Company, you've seen them all.

It was pretty obvious something was up for a while though. They're just now releasing screenshots after how many YEARS? Stargate Worlds already has pages of them.

After waiting for so long (years) for something substantial from PE in regards to this licence/game, it should be pretty obvious that STO in PE/P2's hands is complete vaporware.

They blew 20 million dollars of investors money on a (now) defunct "no name" title. Just how much more money were they going to try to fleese using a famous franchise name like 'Star Trek'?

An "official" response to this latest news from Daron, or anyone else from PE/P2 is meaningless. Lies on top of lies..."everything is okay, we are still working hard, this in no way affects STO development", etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada. Same pile of garbage we've been hearing ad nauseum.

They've been caught.

And this is probably just the tip of the iceberg...

The sooner CBS/Paramount yanks the licence and allows a reputable company to start work on a real Star Trek MMO the better.

Exactly. While they're at it they should pull the license from Bethesda as well. Give it back to Activision, regardless of past problems.
(Problems with Viacom, not NBC Universal, the current owner of the franchise.)

Better yet, how bout Interplay!  :p

Come on, don't tell me you didn't like the 25th Anniversary Game. Up until Elite Force came out it was the only ST game I played. Seriously though now that Activision is under Blizzard (a company known for their well-handled IPs), I'd trust them a whole lot more than PE or Bethesda. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Elder Scrolls series, but they really dropped the ball when it came to Legacy.

I mentioned this last year on these forums. I got some supportive answers, but for the most part there were a lot of flaming too.

I even used common sense in my arguments (well, i tried to) and explained to people that while creating a MMO is a VERY HUGE undertaking, the way PE was handling it was grossly unprofessional.

I explained how last year they should have released alpha shots by now. Remember, last year they only had one piece of conceptual art and a bunch of conceptual screenshots (which are way better than the actual in-game alpha screenshots). I explained the time line and how, despite its huge undertaking of a MMO, there should have been more things other than 4 developer blog entries (with the last one being 1.5 years old) and a sparse collection of graphic eye candy (in which 90% of it was pulled from the site).

Many people argued the fact that STO was suffering a "radio silence" for several reasons:

1. PE was concentrating on Gods and Heroes. (You know how that went)
2. It was a marketing tactic (never could figure this one out)
3. They were behind the scenes spending more time developing the product than spending their precious time advertising it on fan sites (well, after three years and two screenshots I doubt this is the correct answer).
4. It a MMO! It takes 5 to 8 years to make one (which is BS. Im employed by a company now with a AAA MMO...it took us 3 years to make it and we had alpha screenshots by the end of the first fiscal year we accounced the game).

Bottom line is this:

Perpetual Entertainment is a lot like Sigil Online. You don't know what Sigil is then I would suggest goggling it. You will be suprised over the similiarities between the too.

Hell, even the timeline of corporate corruption is almost identical.

But you know...you wont hear this from STO.net
Fun, scarey, and somewhat prophetic reading
