my worst fears were confirmed. absolutely no gameplay footage, no screenshots, just a bunch of drawings and concept art with the perpetual staff blabbering about how great it will be to exist in the star trek universe. three years of work and they showed us nothing. i am beginning to have serious doubts about a release coinciding with the ST XI next year. oh well.

Not that I don't believe you, but I do want to see it for myself...I just can't afford the boxset price tag right now.

It may fail, it may not. There is nothing either you or I can do about that. Find something to do and just check in now and again as I've done here for 2 years. What else can one do?

I SERIOULY doubt STO is ever going to ship and even if it does i doubt it'll be anything like the game they set out or told us they were making.Once the Trek fans lose hope and interest in this game(in development) who else do they ever expect to care.
Even if it does ship, if Trek fans won't touch it then who do they think is going to?
If the news is true about the "casual" approach and "free" play in favor of "in game purchases"(ala Second Life) then i can already say i won't have anything to do with this game.As i said in another thread, Perpetual needs to address this ASAP.

They will be waiting to see how the new movie looks and base the game around that and not the Trek Universe we all know and love.
The Game will finish itself after the movie comes out

Which movie would that be? Star Trek XV?  Seriously, I won't be holding my breath waiting for this game. If it comes out, so be it. |

I wouldn't be surprised if CBS has zero clue as to all of the happens to P.E (P2) these days. My money is there will be a beta key tie in when CBS releases the movie December 25, 2008. Other than that, I don't think CBS cares. I've sent them 15 letters have never received a reply. |
