I read the book. Here are my thoughts *MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
Peter David is without doubt one of the most talented Star Trek authors I've ever read. With that said, his book "Before Dishonor" was a great read with a lot of surprises and twists.
HOWEVER... after reading the novel the Borg have become my LEAST favorite "bad guys" in Star Trek. This whole "The Borg are trying to invade Earth" storyline has been beaten to death. With reading this novel, you knew the Borg, who were a powerhouse, were somehow, someway going to get beaten. You knew there was NO way that they would succeded to take over Earth.
I also did not really like the whole "Absorbing" aspect of the Borg... they can just swallow up any ships or planets? It was interesting but reading "You will be Absorbed" does not have quiet the ring that "You will be Assimilated."
The good aspects of the novel is the ending and the munity that occurs on board the Enterprise.

I've read this. So far the TNG relaunch keeps getting better and better. (another reason why these books, well, the post-2000 books, except the Shatnerverse, should become canon).
Spoilers I do find it wierd about what they did to Janeway, especially considering this isn't a Voyager novel. I wonder if it will have any baring on the Voyager relaunch.

I agree. Especially in the begining of the novel, it felt more like a Voyager re-launch series rather than a TNG Re-Launch...
*Spoilers*
So what will happen to T'Lana? It seems likes she will no longer serve on board the Enterprise-E.

But Admiral N(whatever the rest of her name is) said something a long the lines of "If we don't approve the transfer, she'll resign her commission"

I flipped through this book at Barnes and Noble yesterday and then bought it at Walmart. I was hooked from word one and just finished reading it today. This was an excellent sequel to Vendetta and I need to go and find a used copy of that book to read it again.

What will happen to #2 and the other Borg that survived and what of their "Energy Displacement" study of "Lady Q". This is a great novel but it left room for a miniseries in and unto itself. Can't wait to find out either way!!!

After reading Resistance and Q & A, I was rather excited to pick up Before Dishonor. As with previous posts, this one may contain spoilers. However, I've only got one thing to say:
LET THE BORG DIE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this case, I was satisfied with how they handled the Borg. In Voyager there hasn't been any significant changes to them. But in these last few novels we actually see them evolve.

I just picked it up. After reading thru page 2, it became readily evident that there is a story that precursor's this one. "Resistance" I believe. So my question to the avid readers (such as Roadhog) or anyone else, Would you recommend I read "Resistance" first? The events have already been revealed (basically) in the first couple of pages of "Before Dishonor" but...............?
I will say it was great to finally meet up once again with (spoiler).

yea definetely. its not just what happened with the borg that was an issue. There were issues that were going on between the Enterprise sr. officers that were important as well.
