It seems like star trek isn't big enough to have its own conventions (except vegas).

Instead we get cons like FEDCON (which I'm sure is great but just not an "official trek convention"),Shoreleave, Farpoint etc....

This makes me sad.

What are your thoughts?

I'm sad that there's never any conventions in NYC or Long Island anymore!

I also have learned that Creation tends to charge actors for their table space.  Not allow actors to sign outside of their bracket.  Then on top of that they get a profit from the Actor's table.

So it seems to come down to money again, and how much big business can squeeze :(

Do  you mean the headliners, or just the ones that are there just at a table, like the guy who played capt Pike?

New Jersey is NOT New York! What's worse is when they call it a NY convention and it's actually in NJ-false advertising!

I always thought the Marriot in Uniondale NY would be a great location! Easy acces from parkways and other routes(RTE 24) or Stewart Ave.

I think  the problem is that when they do have them its usually not when many fans like myself can go (usually during or right before school) and they are 9 out of 10 times not on the east coast. I went to one a few months ago and got Shatner and  Nimoy along with a few of the recurring people to sign a book written by Shatner and photos with all of them.

I'm saddened by the fact that there isn't even a Sci-Fi con in my state (Wisconsin) I know enough people who would go to one, but I doubt it will ever happen.

this part is a little wrong, this stuido do tell what they can sell or don't sell. this is the part no one like this stuido to tell others what to sell. do not buy a thing from them. it would cost you a lot of money. you may try conventions thet this stuido can not control them.

Paramount doesnt license conventions any longer. ¿Seems that Creation is the only one who will have the official stamp of approval and thus support from Paramount.

i am going to try to set up a convention in hawaii after 8 month later. i do hope others would like to go there? for it.
