I will be heading to Vegas in late August (college exams prevent me from attending the convention).  I plan to visit The Experience, and was wondering if they allow cameras/pictures?

I haven't seen any fan taken pictures of the museum area or anyone in The Experience.  Seems like a pretty shoddy deal if you have to pay $40 and you can't even take visual memories home with you.

You can take all the pictures you want in the museum, entrance, promendae, quarks, and that includes photos with any aliens you might see strolling by.  Note however that nearly all the props are in glass cases and it's a dimly lit area so you need a high ISO capable camera to get any good shots.  That may be why you don't see many pics posted.

Cameras are forbidden in the actual ride areas.  They tell you this when you reach the point of no photography so you wont be caught off guard & they don't take your camera away, they just tell you not to use it.  As mentioned, they do offer paid photo packages of you on the bridge and borg chamber though, and that gives you time to look at the bridge in more detail as the y rush you through the bridge on the actual ride.

And finally, you do not have to pay $40 to get in.  Go to the half priced ticket stands you see in town and you'll get a voucher for a little over 20 bucks good for use on that day only.  You then just take the voucher to the experience entrance (don't go to the Hilton's ticket booth) and you'll be let in.

I actually have pictures inside of the ride that I had permission to take.  I can post a couple if you like.

If you're planning to use the monorail to get about, they have free booklets you can pick up at the stations. These have money off vouchers in them, including (whilst we were there) vouchers for The Experience.

That would be interesting to see if it's not too much of a bother.

Also, thanks for the tips on discounts around Las Vegas.  I was going to buy the tickets online since you save $5, but saving $20 with local coupons sounds better.

You CAN take pictures of the timeline and of the props they have in the cases, Quark's, the promanade and the shops, but not in the acutal rides themselves.

I was just searching the site to STTE and they have raised the ticket price to $43, so if you plan on going, buy them online and save $5.
