Starfleet: Special Ops

I've been writing up a level plan for a while. But i have no game-making experience and so will never make it real, but ah well.

You have a team, which you give commands to, and you basically kick rouge Klingon ### in TOS era. You're a redshirt with a helmet and a phaser rifle, and it is centered around stealth missions and all out battlefeild warfare against Klingon Helltanks and Augment Warriors created by Marla Soong: Noonien Soong's evil sister.

There are shuttle and ground vehicle levels and you can basically pick up anything, shoot anything and blow-up anything.

Think: If you're cornered on a space station then you grab your hand-dandy portable photon mortar launcher and your grav boots, blast a hole in the wall and watch the Klingons get blown out into space. How cool would that be?!?

First, you'd have to convince them that making a game off of a cancelled Star Trek series would be profitable.

I love the DEATHSQUAD idea, I wonder what it will be like on a Wii, using the pattern buffer to get weapons etc.

Enlighten us Chandler Bing...

Well, just an idea for having a good game set in the Mirror Universe. You could have all the best weapons plus a range of torture devices for interrogation mini-games, similar to those featured in 24: The Game but with more gore and depth.

As for the Wii, I've no idea how you could incorporate that odd remote control thingy into the game. Perhaps using it like a tricorder to scan things, wave it up and down to sweep over an object on-screen? Or perhaps, you'll notice the MACO in Star Trek: Enterprise had shock batons for use in hand-to-hand situations: motion sensor that, and you could have some grappling with the enemy with the stick thingy as the baton.

you have a good point captain_windu, enterprise wasnt the best series in the star trek universe. as long as they dont make the mistake that EF2 made , it was pretty crap compared to EF. i remember watching the games development for ages, i completed it twice and got rather bored with it and sold it, it was mediocre at best.

Seeing as the franchise is no longer paired with Activision I'd say it'd be pretty tough to get somebody to develop it.

As for what I'd like to see, the mirror universe idea sounds cool. I think if they want to make a successful and popular game though they would have to cash in on STOs release.

For shooters, I would like to see Ubisoft give it a shot
for RTS games, Blizzard should try it

ubisoft are a #### development team, just look at the crappy SCDA and rainbow six VEGAS. they destroyed that franchise and you want them to destroy star trek (technically they already did with legacy) Ubi only want your money, and they sell incomplete games with a "get your money and we will  patch it later attitude". they suck nuff said!

Destroy?
from what I heard, its completely the opposite with Splinter Cell.
Also, I like that game series the best of all TPS.

splinter cell, pandora tomorrow and chaos theory were designed for the PC, double agent and this new one are designed around the consoles. which is why it will be crap, ubi just want more money, and they will happily dump PC owners (who made them what they are today) in order to make a quick buck or two. im disgusted in the way they treat their loyal customers by not bringing out patches to fix problems they couldnt be bothered to fix before release.
