I just finished Vanguard: Open Secrets
I just started TOS: Children Of Kings
I love the old-school stuff and Children of Kings is even a Captain Pike story.

I just started on the fourth book in the Typhon Pact series and it seems good. Books one and two were great, book three seemed more like an episode than an actual book, but it too was a good read and gives a lot of insight into the Romulan mind and government.
I love these books. IMO though, the best stories are the ones from the Myriad Universe series; the Myriad universe Bashir is awesome ... and tragic.

Reading three Typhon Pact books - Fallen Gods, Raise the Dawn , and Brinkmanship. Half way through the second. In terms of plot like it better than Fallen Gods it just seems to be moving at a faster clip. Also like the internal politics and characters of the Romulans. In Fallen Gods - I liked the fact that the Christine Vale character gets off the ship and away from the Vale/Troi/Riker axis which I haven't liked in past books. She's better commanding an away team and expressing a little doubt if only internally. Also it brings back Tuvok and T'Pel with some actual character development. And it continues, though not enough, the very interesting development with Andor.
In Raise the Dawn, as I said I'm only half way through, the seeminly eternal lack of resolution to the Sisko/Kassidy relationship continues - who knows what comes at the end. The great characters of Nan Bacco and staff are back...........stay tuned. Kira is back.........hope Spock shows up before the end.

I'm making my way through the old DS9 novels at the minute, the original numbered ones from Pocket Books. Bloodletter at the minute, it's a nice story but doesn't keep me page turning quite like Fallen Heroes, the novel I read last, did.

I just started David Mack's first book in his "Cold Fusion" trilogy, entitled The Persistence Of Memory. It is fantastic, so far! It's good to hear from the Enterprise-E's crew, again!
It is interesting, to me, to begin seeing how much Captain Picard and Commander Worf, his XO, are alike. I hadn't noticed it before.
However, I do have a bone to pick, perhaps. with them. Although they could just be joking--kind of an inside, executive joke--between themselves, it seemed like they were insulting Captain Will Riker, a bit. Although he and Worf had been rivals for Deanna's affections at one time, I was surprised to hear Captain Picard make such comments.
Of course, he was trying to encourage Worf to prepare to become Captain of his own ship in the near future, but he seemed to put Riker down a little. To me, he had always supported Riker, having chosen him to be his First Officer. So, I was surprised to read his comments and apparent attitude.
I like Rker, and I am beginning to think he is becoming a better captain than Picard, who may be fading into retirement.

Just finished Typhon Pact Brinkmanship - loved it! A very fast paced plot, and a very thoughtful depiction of a war weary society. The Exri Dax character is being matured into someone much more interesting and sympathetic than earlier re-launch novels in my opinion.

That's an interesting insight Miklamar. Another possibility would be that Picard is getting ready to transition into a new career possibly a diplomat? After all ST already established that career path with Spock.

Finished the Eternal Tide - hugh plot twist - don't want to spoil it for anyone. But the twist is being actively discussed on the Voyager board, I see.

I had re-read my ST:VOY Full Circle. I have ST:VOY Unworthy, but can't find it. Until we went in and got new phones on New Year's Eve. Now that I have a smart phone, and I found an interesting pre-installed app, I decided that I would go ahead and look for that one to see if it was available. It is and I bought it yesterday. Almost done with it and although I like my regular books better, I don't have to wait for the battery to recharge, I don't feel too bad about having it since I still have the regular book, too.
I'm thinking that I'll use the app for the books that I can't find locally, but I'll probably get the book, too.
That said, since this is my first smart phone I would appreciate any advice, tips and hints. Alcatel 995A One Touch Android. I do have lot's of questions, but am playing with it and sorta finding out some things We'll see if I still want it or decide to try a dif phone before my 30 days are up
