*snip*
I'm also finding the setup between Worf and T'Lana to be pretty interesting and looking forward to seeing it play out.
*snip*

I agree with most of what you had to say, but whatever spark Worf has for T'Lana, it seems way too soon (IMO)... though I suppose love/attraction is something you can't time.

^ Too soon? It's been more than six years since he lost Jadzia. I'd say that he's had time enough to grieve properly.

has it really been that long?  wow.
But that goes to show that, at least in my opinion and without doing the math, it still seems soon.  Especially when the TNG Relaunch is in its liftoff and already Worf has a "love interest".
IMO, it's a plot development I didn't need to see in Resistance,  since there was so much that was good going on -- it was really the only part of the book that "bothered" me, that and the fact a Sovereign-class ship can seperate as the Galaxy-class does.  That sure came out of the blue.

It's more like five years. Jadzia died at the end of 2374, and Resistance takes place in early 2380.

Nope. We had that discussion before.

Unless they use the explosives to blow up the connection, the ship really cannot separate.

...or we can pay attention to canon (not assumptions and non-canon "evidence") and use a little imagination, but as you say, we've already discussed this.

However, a related thing that bothered me in the book was the (SPOILER highlight to read) Cloaking Device. It was such a short and pointless plot point, though, I can almost forget it.

Maybe someone can tell me if it was established in another book because I just finished the first Titan novel and I know Riker seemed, at first, appalled (Titan:Taking Wing SPOILER highlight to read) when Akaar put cloaking on a Titan shuttle craft.

Yes, that was one more thing about the book that didn't quite sit well with me.
Seemed pretty frivolous of the author to throw that plot "device" in, when the same effect could have been produced in any other number of ways.
And like the Borg haven't adapted to that technology by now.

So... your comments on the relaunch so far?

All in all I am very pleased. DESTINY changed the whole TREK universe, TNG finally has a new crew (although I will really miss Miranda Kadohata... she really grew on me, especially in her last TNG appearance "Losing the Peace") and it focuses on a big political plot (IMO TREK at it's best).

Before Dishonor was so far IMO the only disappointment of the series.
