For a long time, there is nothing in Oklahoma City.  Now, thats so sad.  I wonder if Star Trek is still doing conventions?  Especially, autograph signings from captains and crew.

Check out GALAXY OF STARS. They have a fantastic lineup, and they're a reasonable drive from Oklahoma. Sounds like fun!

Oh, JJ...it's okay to promote your own con.  Really.  Not just on every topic.

I'll be there.  Tickets already ordered.

This has me blown away, I am so confused. ¿ It's ok to promote your own con but not just on every topic? ¿Huh? ¿ I am from OK too, nothing EVER comes here.

Every con question he jumps in with the GALAXY OF STARS!  It's usually nowhere near where someone is asking about.  This one is in Mississippi.  I was just being snarky at his expense.

GALAXY OF STARS. It's in Mississippi (Next door to AK, less than 3hr drive from Memphis.).

Yeah, it's a little bit of a drive from Little Rock. I think you'd come down Hwy 65 most of the way. Is 65 4-laned? I used to live in the Delta and would drive to Pine Bluff alot. But would have to go way out of the way to get there. If they were to ever finish that new bridge going through Rosedale/Greenville, it would make travelling a lot quicker. But, that's years away.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.  GALAXY OF STARS is something we're promoting in conjuction with some local sci-fi fan clubs for the benefit of fans in the deep south who don't always get to go to conventions further away. I don't know if there's anything closer to you that has as good a Star Trek lineup. Hope you can come. Let me know if you're interested and need more info.

I've been to The Trek Expo in Tulsa several times even though it is 15 hours away from me. ¿It's a great con with good fan access to the stars. ¿The dinner with the stars is really inexpensive and a good chance to get photos with everyone, up close and personal.

I want to go to the TE in Tulsa.  It seems like a real fan friendly event.  I get tired of the heard mentality at other cons.

Vulkon is also good for fans.  They are mostly here in the south, though.

What is the TE in Tulsa all about?

The Tulsa Trek Expo is an annual event sponsored by a store called Starbase 21. I've been the last two year, and it is a great convention. They get a wide variety of guest. This past June, they had Nichelle Nichols, Walter Keonig, Linda Park, Vaughn Armstrong, Casey Biggs, Richard Herd, Steven Rankin, Ron B. Moore, Adam Baldwin (from Firefly and Chuck), Helen Slater (Supergirl & Smallville) and Amy Allen (Star Wars episode II & III). Last year, they had Kate Mulgrew, Bob Picardo, Ethan Phillips, LeVar Burton, Suzi Plakson, Sean Kenney, Richard Anderson (Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman), Ron Glass (Firefly & Voyager), Bonnie Piesse (Star Wars Episode II & III), Andee Frizzell (Stargate: Atlantis) & Claudia Christianson (Babylon 5).

It is always a great show. Next year is their 20th Anniversary con. June 26-28, 2009. The web site is www.trekexpo.net.
Check it out.
