Hello!

A friend and I (CaptainJBridges &  Borg03) have begun to set up a fleet.

This fleet is DQ Fleet, which has the sole purpose of beginning to explore the Delta Quadrent from the other end that Voyager did.
Our flag-ship is the USS Empathy. Our main function is to seek out new life in the DQ, but also to find ways of getting rid of the Borg, who know of our existance and wish to destroy us all...

If you would like to join but do not have a ship, there will be a DQ HQ RP running soon.

Website is still under constuction so watch this space!

Please post if you would like to join DQ Fleet.

Ok anyways, I know your not dairy queen.  There is about a dozen fleets made every month.   I can't say that most are successful nor titles original, but I'd like to help...

first I must ask one thing: why you are forming the fleet?

There arent many delta quadrant fleets that I know of and in particular not many that offer storylines dedicated to eradicating the borg, most simply try to stay away from them. SO its a unique chance, and helps give the opportunity to offer that kind of simming for everyone.

eradicate?  I was just watching the episode where Data is taken by Lore... Picard was being questioned by the Admiral about his crews interaction with Hugh.   He defended that Hugh was an intellegent life form and not a drone. It seems to completely change in the First Contact movie. Perhaps his personal interaction with them, and possibly from being Locutus for a portion of time might have been an influencial factor.

Now I must ask: Why do you wish to eradicate the Borg?

You want to know why to eradicate the Borg?? Is it not obvious enough that they're reign of terror threatens the Federation and all who are in it? True Picard left a part of his individuality in the collective, but no one can be certain how strong of an effect that would have much less how long it would take before every borg were individuals. It is possible that the borg may return stronger. To eradicate the borg is the same as protecting the Federation.

Something I have to think on, is if it would be considered Genocide?   However, I would need to analyze the definition of genocide, and if I could define it as a deliberate extinction of an entire race... I must then identify if the Borg constitute a race or a group of races.  Certinaly they are unique to our system, but they are made up of several species.  Yet the point is given that the Federation's struggle against the borg could be rationalized as self defense... still to what extreme will one go through to eliminate a threat?   It could be rationalized through fear.  If so a fear or threat such as the borg could lead to Genocide...

Example: The fear of the ever present terrorism must be delt with.  Some Islamics are terrorists.  Destroy them all.  Is that what the terrorists are thought to be doing?  Does that make it correct to eradicate others?

These are a few things I need to examine.

Third Question: What will you do once the borg are gone?  Will you continue to explore the area? re-build the devestated area?  Seek to re-instate the cultures once assimilated by the borg? or perhaps colonize the un-inhabited worlds?  unite thier people under one governing body such as the Federation of Planets?

If the borg are never gone, then you are stating that your goal is not possible and there for any action towards this would be a guise for an actual hidden agenda.

Example:

one could be stalling for time, :O
or perhaps performing treachery against ones own people
.....

Or perhaps negotiating a deal

A Q a borg?  My guess is that the council would have taken away his or her powers long before the assimulation nanites had taken control of his or her body.

still it is questionable as to what would be gained from his intellect... in the episode where Q had his powers taken away, he retained his knowledge.
