YES!!!! I remember that guy  he was wacky the whole weekend!!!!

Star trek will always be linked to memories for me

-watching classic trek with my Dad when I was a kid. (I lost my dad on 9/11)

-I played Next gen in my treatment room when I had cancer and it helped keep our spirits up

So somthing as small as a autograph that has my name on it is a bit of a big deal.

But I did enjoy myself. I have also blown a LOT more money on a LOT less fun  LOL

The reason I was able to shake his hand was because he extended his hand to me after I asked him a question. My question was fast and apparently it caught Bill's attention so they chose not to shove me along so quickly. I was also dressed in a 3 piece suit so that may have some effect on how you get treated as opposed to wearing a Star Trek Costume.

By the way...everybody is entitled to thier opinion..and as to how they spend thier money...I enjoyed my time with Shatner and the momentos I took home from it, and those who had the gold package got the same autograph and the same 10 seconds I got. The point is... if you want Avery and Kate and to spend all 3 days at an event it's perfectly sensible to go for the package deal....But if you just want the Classic Cast...like me...you order early so you pay the best price and get a low numbered autograph ticket so you get up there before they start shoving you foward.

Just be happy with what you got...Bill won't be around much longer so at least you got to meet him.

You got it man,
Sometimes it gets annoying when people are so defensive...but I guess that doesn't warrant getting defensive back

Maybe my tone is being misinterpreted (or I suck as a writer) but I'm GLAD you got 10 sec with Shattner  good for you.

As far as how I was dressed  I was in khaki's and a polo shirt, not exactly bad attire

I also had a gold ticket row B so not too bad

And if you have been to 40 cons then you deserve it more then I do because I have now been to exactly 2

All my complaints are directed to Creation NOT any other attendee. If they had just put on the web site "due to time constraints stars can not personalize autographs" I would have expected it and no big deal.

do I have any regrets. NOT A ONE  Did I have a good time  HELL YEA. Would I do it again?  I think I am going to save up and take a shot at one in Cali or Vegas. If i seem defensive I'm sorry i don't mean to.

I went on Sunday just to meet Shatner. I'm not big fan Of Creation cons, but bought the tickets before I found out Shatner would be at United Fan Con in Springfield,MA a day earlier. For a Creation show, it wasn't that bad. I didn't expect anything special in the dealers room because most high end dealers pretty much only sell on ebay. Without big guests, it really feels that the Star Trek convention is on life support. Here are some of my pics:

Captain's log

Myself and Patrick Stewart's
clone

Vulcan tourists

Pitching the movie idea I made up while waiting to get on stage

The line to take a photo with Shatner

Hi All,

I really enjoyed the convention. It was my first one. I'm inspired to make a new costume now. I met some great people and one nice gentleman in particular.

Steve, from Connecticut, if you're out there, please post a message here. I've lost your email addy!

Also as a side not that British guy who looks like Stewart spends a lot of time in a wheelchair for real! So many ppl bothered him for pics and god forbid you buy the guys a drink!!! I thought that was unfair. I was talking to him about the Cristie's auction and every 5 sec ¿"picture please"

Actually, he isn't in a wheelchair for real.  When he's in the wheelchair, he's playing the part of Professor Xavier from X-Men.  He dresses up as Picard and Xavier because.....you guessed it......Patrick Stewart did both roles.

But that's why he was in a wheelchair.

Hi, new to the board. Yeah that guy was named Darren. I think he was mildly retarded. But he did that with half the guests when I was there three days. He asked Malachi Throne twice about being False Face in the Batman series. He was the highlight of the weekend for me as was Avery Brookes and the Shat. Mulgrew pissed me off with her, "I chose acting over my kids"  and political platform. And not even looking up to sign autographs was the iceing on the cake. Anyone who liked her is trying to justify their money. All around I would give Creation a D- and the celebrities a solid A.

I really liked Mulgrew! I thought she went out of her way to be kind to the guests, especially the kids.

The original poster complained that guests were asking the same what-was-your-favorite episode/moment/movie: those questions were asked by kids. Besides, at a Star Trek convention, one expects to be able to dwell on favorite Star Trek moments.

As for Giles, he was posing for pictures almost non-stop that day. But he's a fan as well as a look-a-like, so can you blame him for wanting to take a break and listen to "Captain Janeway" speak?

But I'll agree about Creation rushing the fans through and not allowing personalizing. And there could have been better vendors.

I really liked the actor Scott Schwartz--the one who played a Hirogen in Voyager and an Orion in Enterprise. And it was so cool seeing "Boomer"!

My favorite part of Mulgrew's talk was when she said womans greatest strength is in motherhood. I hadn't known she was a mother, and that added a new dimension to her strong leadership role as Janeway.

It also saddened me to hear that her sons felt neglected during Voyager's run. Nimoy's children said something similar. I hate to think that a show that brings me so much joy caused a degree of suffering to those most closely connected.
